Has anyone tried one the 44 pin IDE to SD Card adapters in a Pismo G3? I was thinking about picking one up, as it might be a cheap replacement for a failing hard disk

I took a gamble and bought one of those batteries for my Pismo a few weeks ago.  It charged up and worked great.  I was kind of surprised to see that since it was probably sitting for years.

I tried to install OS/2 on mine. No go.  The installer just crashes with a USB floppy.

I may have some files to contribute-- I found a CD of all of the Daystar Digital Drivers in my pile of stuff.  I can write code too.

And... It stopped working.   :-/   Fired it up last night and nothing.  Same error from the Asante diags.  Broke out the 7.1 CD and did a clean install with network options. Everything worked right away with no other drivers.   Tried it this morning and it's still working.

Open Transport 1.1.1 solved the problem.  I had a really old version of MacTCP-- It was 1.1.1 I think.  I couldn't find MacTCP 2.0.6-- maybe that would have worked.

Used one for years-- still have it and a T43.  Mine has an a/b/g radio. Great machines. The only thing that's limiting is 2GB RAM max, but the T43 runs Win 7 OK with 2GB. Tried an Intel SSD drive in the T42. No luck, random crashes

Wow, that's too bad...  UF18 looks like it's gone. it's a real time clock chip, but apple specific. I'd still take a shot a cleaning it up, but it doesn't look good. :(

They look like a smaller diamter than the originals. Leads might not lines up. If they do line up and you have clearance for the extra height, then I don't see why you couldn't use them Why not order new ones though? I'd check the other components around those though. That looks like some...
