    Today's Powerbook combo

Apropos of nothing in particular, today's Powerbook combo :-) I think they go well together! Did the grey version of this monitor ever come with the easel back stand? I have that for one of the VGA blue/white ones, but have a low-grade want for the grey one if it exists.

    3D-Printed Objects

I have a pZero sitting around. This will make me unlimber the 3D printer... :-)

    My first “conquest” post

It didn't look exactly like the DuoDisk, which is why I was hoping I could read the small text. I also see what looks like an odd clear keyboard behind the clear IIe. Sort of looks like the IIgs keyboard with function keys. I see you also added a DAT drive to the ANS. I'd like to find one of...

    Garrett's Finds

Any kind of external SCSI HD or Zip drive? If it's too big to fit on one floppy, there's one of the file compression utilities that can break archives up into floppy sized chunks, and then re-assembles them when you extract. I just can't remember the name right now! :-(

    My first “conquest” post

Glad you got a chance to play with some of your new toys! :-) What's that on top of the /// and monitor? Looks kind of like a DuoDisk with the slots blanked out. Can't make out the text at all.

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh SE PCB & Custom Chips for 1:1 reproduction

Wouldn't kill me if we needed a destructive teardown of the Brainstorm BBU, but it would be a bonus if we could preserve the original. So - don't rule it out if that's what it comes to.

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh SE PCB & Custom Chips for 1:1 reproduction

I've retrieved the BrainStorm SE and will send the logic board and bits off to Maceffects. here's an album of pictures. Sorry for the link out, but the gallery upload here was flakey. I'll try to get them "locally" here when I can. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmTrg1ko

    Warning! Exploding Maxell PRAM Batteries

Win? Sorrow and woe :-) PS - that might be survivable - won't know until you get the crud cleared off and can bet a better look.

    Mac that's not a Mac

Nice. I've always wanted to see more of the Boxx clones that came out of Germany(?)

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh SE PCB & Custom Chips for 1:1 reproduction

That's me. I'll pick up the machine and get the logic board with the BBU and PDS card to Maceffects. I'll take some better pictures and share them here when I do.

Don't use 16V SOLID Tantalum on SE/30 Motherboards

This is true - I've bought that kit before, and it includes the axials along with the tantalum caps.

Don't know, but the updater is on Macintosh Garden (along with previous versions) if you want to download it and play around :-)

Factory 32mb Video Card for G4 Cube

I can confirm that the fanless Radeon 7500 runs great in a Cube without extra cooling for normal use. I could see a lot of multi-hour gaming probably not being a good idea, but for "everyday" use, I've not had problems with either of my Cubes with Radeon 7500s in them. If you get stuck, I can...

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh SE PCB & Custom Chips for 1:1 reproduction

Info from Macworld back in the day: Sometimes, the less said about a product, the better. In the case of the Brainstorm Accelerator for the Macintosh SE, that's praise. This upgrade does precisely what it should: make your SE faster and otherwise remain invisible. In this day of the Power Mac...

Yes - the PDS card is part of the Brainstorm system. You need both the PDS card and the BBU chip as far as I know.
