New photo album of my Mac Plus

Hi all, This Mac has actually spent its entire life in Israel, and belonged to an Israeli university. This was where I found it on its way to the skip, and took it home (after getting permission, of course). Before I got this Mac working, I'd also never seen a Hebrew system earlier than 7...

Mac Plus analog board insulator card.

Is this what you mean? http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103344 That looks like ordinary mounting tape. Wouldn't you need something more heat resistant?

Mac Plus analog board insulator card.

Thanks everyone. I see that Scotch and 3M both advertise tape which is designed for use up to 220 degrees fahrenheit. I guess if temperatures go as high as that in a Mac Plus, there's more to worry about than a bit of melting tape . . .

New photo album of my Mac Plus

It's funny, but until I saw your reply, it never occurred to me how rare my keyboard probably is. I was more concerned with preserving the Hebrew System 4.1; I suspect there might not be very many more copies of it. I added a close-up picture of the keyboard to the album.

Mac Plus analog board insulator card.

Hi all, Quick question: I need to reattach the insulator card to my Mac Plus analog board. It was originally attached with double sided foam tape. What do you use to attach it with? I have some double sided foam tape but I'm not sure how it will react when the Mac heats up. Thanks, Daniel

SD card reader with Mac Quadra

Hi, SCSI Probe actually confirmed what the problem is: if you click on LUN 0 and try to mount it, it will give a bunch of errors and say "LUNs not supported". I am going to try the PCMCIA adapter and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. D.

SD card reader with Mac Quadra

Hi, This is the card reader, I think: http://a4000t.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=180 I didn't buy it from this company (and I didn't pay as much as they are selling it for ;) ). I put it in the external SCSI case, previously there was a CD-RW in it. THe SCSI...

SD card reader with Mac Quadra

Hi all, I have a SCSI multi-card reader that I originally bought to use with an Emax sampler. That never happened, so I thought I'd try to get it running with my Quadras: I'm close to getting it working, but I can't get a disk to mount. This is what SCSI probe says: As you can see, it...

Quadra 700 starts at second attempt

Hi all, I have a Quadra 700. Everything seems to work, except that it has one quirk. Whenever I turn it on, it starts up, gets to the smiley Mac, and then immediately restarts. On the second attempt it boots to the desktop and all is OK. Does anyone have any idea what hte problem might be...

Getting files onto old compact Macs

Hi all, This is my first ever post here, so "hi". Here's what I do: I have a Mac Plus, and getting stuff onto it was a major puzzle. My solution was to use a Quadra 650, which is connected to the Internet. I download stuff on the Q650, and copy it onto a zip disk. The Mac Plus can either boot...
