Lifted the back off to have a look. Snapped some images too. Its pretty clean inside, nothing looks amiss.
It has allowed me to trace the smell's origin, which is the power in and/or side fan, as mentioned earlier, its when this fan spins up that the smell really kicks in.
Snapped a close up...
I've gotten a few bits and pieces from smoking households before, this smell is definitely different to that, here's hoping it is just a residual odor like that, but the way this smells, it literally makes my nose constrict. Whatever its expelling into the air, its thick and feels toxic. For...
Got my recently acquired TiBook running 9 with the help of you guys. I've since had an interesting development in regards to a very bad and immensely strong smell its now making whenever it gets a bit warm and the fan spins up.
Difficult to pinpoint exactly what sort of smell it it, i guess it...
There is definitely a way, I remember turning all sorts of small images into desktop patterns. Digging around in the back of some fuzzy memories here but I don't think what your doing is incorrect, maybe your images are exceeding a max filesize or number of pixels?
If no-one else remembers how...
How old are we talking? Excluding the marquee on the front page which loads each entry underneath one another, i've found the garden to be very usable on Classilla.
It always struck me as a site that could fall over if given a slight nudge
Divers seem to be there, as a drag and drop installation from the TiBook restore CD worked. Quite pleased that a re-format wasn't needed. Many thanks for the assistance
Its quite neat booting up an OS9 machine and not being pinged about a dead clock battery :p
Hi all, thanks for the responses
What am I looking for when right clicking the HD? the resulting menu and 'get info' don't seem to show any driver info, OS9 or otherwise... or is that the point :p
Hi all
I've got a 1ghz TiBook that i'm hoping to stick 9 on, preferably without removing the 10.4 install. Unfortunately, while I have an install disk, the machine boots off of it fine but wont refuses to run the install application.
Just wondering what the correct OS9 install image is for...
There is an eBay listing located near me geographically selling a couple of G4 Quicksilvers. They haven't been powered up and they don't have a drive so there being sold as spares, the price is appropriate for this. I am curious to find out what the clock speed of them are but the seller doesn't...
Alternatively (if you can't source a box), wrap the box in a layer of bubble wrap and then again with brown wrapping paper. That's what I usually do :p
Just to re-iterate, I'v unplugged the PRAM already, its not connected.
The main battery is a replacement and capable of about 2 hours of charge so I don't think its that
Hi All
just a quick post to gauge the feasibility of restoring an old Hard Disk from a 5200. It hasn't been spun up in a while and when we tried it (the rest of the computer seemed to work fine), the HD sounded very squeaky. The Mac was unfortunately unable to boot from it.
I've read somewhere...
Hi all, im wondering if anyone might be able to make any suggestions regarding a 400mhz Pismo I have. As the title suggests, it boots so long as its plugged in at the mains and the reset button that sits among the ports has been pressed for a bit.
The obvious first thing to do was to disconnect...
One tiny moan I have about my clamshell is that the USB port is recessed. I guess USB pen drives wernt really a thing back then but its a bit of a faff getting software on it as all my pens are too wide :p
I have a 400mhz pismo which is excellent, although the PRAM is dead, resulting in me...
