I don't have an answer for that question.
I'm just going under the assumption that it would be easier to make/modify some sort of charger than to try and modify the duo or the battery's circuitry too heavily. As mentioned, I'm not good with this stuff, but in the case of trying to build a piece...
With a project like this, I'd say it's best to keep it as simple as possible.
I vote for using the regular 4/5 A cells at the highest amp-hour storage you can find them. Then, just put a diode so the battery can't charge in the duo. You'll be sticking with NiMH, so the discharge curve should be...
My understanding is that the max current amps is how much can come out at one time, or "how many so-and-so volt devices can use that circuit without dropping the current". Amp-hour capacity is a measure of how long it can provide that max current. Correct?
I paid less than $50 shipped for mine only a few months ago. Just wondering, what makes these so helpful compared to other battery chargers?
I guess I'm lucky, I have two. (Newertech Ethernet Minidock & The Holy Grail Ultradock 16sce) :)
Define: Same.
Same type as in Lithium vs. NiMH or same voltage & amperage?
If the latter (meaning the same amperage which usually equates to runtime), how did the various types of batteries get different run times?
I think I missed something, but wouldn't newer cells (rechargeable of course) charge inside the duo the same as the originals?
Also, I believe the battery is "rated" at 12 volts. However, looking at Battery Amnesia shows that it actually runs more like between 14-15 volts coming from the...
Side note: I was thrilled yesterday when I managed to get my G3 300 to play an MPEG-4 Part 2 Version 2 (I hate video codecs.... so confusing!) in 320x240 with audio and all in-sync. It couldn't do 640x480.
1. Id' think so, though I'm no firewire expert. I just like the idea of easily booting from one and having your other drive to clone right there and handy. With these old machines, I've learned to go with stable, compatible, and easy to use over getting a bit better speed. Besides, does it...
Sadly, those are still out of my price range. (And really only coming close to entering in at the sub $100 realm.)
I've actually wanted to get one of these, if not just for the coolness factor...
The approved comments have flooded in!
I guess they aren't afraid of your logic after all. }:) I definitely like the idea of the disk tools being included in the sale.
I am working on getting linux on the 2300c (more on that later), but I can't seem to get BootX 1.2.2 running. It continuously quits with a Type 3 error. This is the case with both the base extension set or all extensions off. This is a clean install of 7.6.1 that I did a few weeks ago. (I...
While I'm necro'ing things:
Do you know of a download link for 3.0.1? (or 3) I can't seem to find one.
Also:
Appears to have died xx(
EDIT- Found the .iso for 3 (Hopefully, they will work.)
