It would be in your best interest to read a datasheet. I say "a" datasheet as active components (2n2222, 2n****, TIP120, LM555, etc) sometimes come in different sizes, or packages by different manufacturers. Most of the time these different packages share conventions such as operating envelopes...
Thats an awesome collection Krye. Seems like a smart move.
I know its not approved but I keep a software backup of every OS I can get my hands on, and with this news I will now be collecting updates.
So I kinda want a stand alone Powermac to serve delicious oldskool apps to my 7100 when it's all said and done.
I found these guys at a hacker studio I frequent, and they look cool, but there is some problems. They both have composite/coaxial and svideo capture cards!
First up is Earshot, as...
Found a guy selling one in my hometown, had to grab it.
Longtime desire to own one of these things, and now that I have it I realized I have no localtalk cables.
Oh well, maybe next week I can find one. For now its fun to draw on!
Well, lucky me! I found one here in my hometown for (what I consider) a pittance!
Now all I need is a serial cable, some newton software, and a clue what I'm doing!
I've mulled it over..
The classics really do nothing for me. I had one as my own computer in grade school, its familiar territory. Plus by trading it I might be able to acquire more desirable stuff for my 7100. The design seems like a "safe" amalgam of older models with some newer...
I've never repaired a Newton, but I have repaired several burnt capacitors in other devices.
If that is indeed what is wrong and things are as dramatic as you say there is a good chance its a simple question of opening the unit up and looking for the damaged component by either a raised top...
You guys have me thinking now. Hmmmm... :b&w: or :beige:
I wont chuck any of them, but I am considering donating the ones I can't find liberators to the http://www.pcmuseum.ca
Is the Classic II really a good find? It runs well, boots up with no problems and seems to have full functionality. I'd like to open it up and replace the caps just to keep it going long term but maybe I'll just get rid of it as is, save myself the time. Its a cross between having a...

I will check the Plus, but its up there on my list if it works. :approve:
I was told to clean out our office storage locker and I came upon these beauties from days gone past. I actually got these around January but they have been sitting around while I make a decision regarding which one to keep.
Mac Classic
Mac Classic II
Mac Se/30
Mac Plus.
Not sure if the...
Yeah thats what I figured, but its nice to get some advice from those who have done the work already. I guess I'll keep my eyes open.
