Hello, I recently recapped this SE/30 board and it works - I got the chime, the mouse pointer appears and the blinking question mark too. On J12 pin 7 there is -11,7V, C9 negative side also -11,7V - but not on floppy port pin 5 - here my DMM is jumping around and goes crazy!?!
I also have solid...
@gagigu Could you please post a picture of that logicboard? I could help to recap that board but want to see a picture first. I'm near Frankfurt, Germany.
Thank you for your help @LaPorta and @croissantking I've desoldered and cleaned the SCSI chip, added some PLCC sockets to swap and test with another SCSI chip, but this didn't solve the problem. Next will be the VIAs... Troubleshooting would be much easier with an oscilloscope
I removed and cleaned the SWIM and Z8530 with no improvement. Will go next to sound chip. Thank you
I am not sure if this points me in the right direction. Maybe I´ll try Applecat later
The mouse pointer moves smooth at all on both ports. Yes it was on floppy port... In order to understand the failure, the boot sequence must be known and I don’t. It seems that one of the last step is not completed/missing
Hello everyone,
I was lucky to get another non working SE/30 with pattern screen and ethernet card in it. The seller allowed me to open the case to inspect the LB before purchase. Battery has not leaked, the LB was very dirty (first two pics) with some green stuff on one of the sound chip...
I'm sorry for late reply. I pulled out this Classic II and changed the ROMs as seen in the picture from @marcelv
But that changed nothing, black screen, no chime.
I resoldered the caps again - nothing.
After that I desoldered the EGRET again and found out that when I touch pin 2 of the EGRET...
Hello, I got a Colour Classic with working logic board (no battery damage, I replaced the caps, it chimes when you hit the power button) but the screen won't torn on. I replaced all capacitors on analog board too, and found a toasted resistor "RF19".
Bomarc schematic doesn't include schematics...
i also have an iMac G3 Rev. B with the Sonnet G3/600 Harmoni in it, got that Sonnet Card for 25 Euros, it was in a broken iMac (seller didn´t know what he had...)
I‘ve a working Sonnet Tempo Trio in my G3 desktop, firewire works with 9.2.1 and it powers my Lacie Ego hardisk.
I haven't tried whether you can boot from it.
I was able to get a few rare early 90s Apple Macintosh cards for a reasonable price I think.
One of that cards is this Total Systems Magellan 040 accelerator with a 68040 CPU, clocked at 25MHz. @joethezombie posted a thread about two years ago here...
Hello,
could some let me know how to adjust my Classic II screen? It should rotate a little bit counter clockwise. I think this should be done by the plastic rings on the backside of the CRT, but I don't want to break something. Is there a manual / description to adjust the screen? Cut-off...
