you can run up to tiger, tiger ran real good for me on my Beige G3 AIO in my sig , also tiger works well on my Yikes G4 400mhz with the same Radeon 7000 in it that was in my Beige G3. but with 340mb ram will be rather painful at times even running tiger ( i seen someone run tiger with 96mb ram)...
i think the eMate should of had the same CPU as the 2000/2100, with the same number of PCICMA slots ( as in 2 of them and not just one) and the 2000/2100 should of had some capability's the eMate had.
it would have been sweet to have more ram then what came with a 2100 (like 16mb insted of 8)
right now the system is in a state of confusion on what to boot to but cant boot to OS 9 cause it lacks the HDD driver and wont be seen from the OS 9 installer as well cause of it (this will not affect OS X's disk utility from seeing it).
i ran into this issue on my DA (of sorts) i removed the...
i think in order for OS 9.x to see a HDD it has to have the OS 9 HDD drivers on the HDD.
do a format wile using OS X's disk utility and make sure you have OS 9 disk drivers selected before you format to see if that is your issue.
you could always try to hold option on boot to get to the OS...
isn't that sort of illegal, warez should not be discussed here. talking about torrent clients for jag is cool, but not if its to download software illegally.
if that isn't what you meant by your post sorry for the confusion
BTW what Mac are you running, if it can i would just install panther or tiger and be done with it. much more support for them then jag (which is becoming like OS 9
he might be using a version that wont work in jag, i ran into that, i finally found a version that would work in jag. its been so long ago i cant remember the version it was ( i think tom said the right version to try)
ohhh ok, that changes things a bit, isn't there setup software for this drive to disable its sleep mode, or maybe some sort of hardware in the case to disable sleep. there would have to be a way to disable its sleep mode. maybe its in its firmware
i know it prolly wont help but did you try to...
well i don't have the same drive, but i have a WD 120GB SE IDE on the internal IDE chain and have no issues with it what so ever, what it sounds like is the external drive don't support the deep sleep function of the Mac or OS X, when a piece of hardware doesn't support the deep sleep function...
i see this
PowerBook G4 (1GHz/867MHz) shows it has OS 9.2.2 support (but it has to be OS 9.2.2 before it will boot the installer or run the OS) system specific installer CD to run 9.2.2
and there is also a few other PB G4's that show OS support for (prolly also has to be a system specific...
Sorry if i missed if you did any of these or not.
have you tried to remove the video card and reseat it.
have you tried resetting Pram/Nvram by holding command+option+P+R at the start chime untill you hear the start chime 3 - 4 more times.
have you tried to go into Open firmware by holding...
the forum takes its spells, one minute its fast , then another seems like your on a 9600 baud or slower dialup modem. it does get annoying at times when you are trying to edit a post and its taking like 15 minutes for the page to respond. And no its not my connection having issues, cause i can...
i also smoke, but i take care of my machines. i clean them out and clean the cases almost monthly. you would only find dust in them when it comes time to clean inside the case.
all of my Mac's are spotless. allot of smokers don't care to keep their machines clean and looking nice and in good...
yea, you both would see a huge performance gain if you got a better video card, right now you are limited to that rage 128 card. a radeon or better would show a big improvement (altho still slow in allot of places)
i have a GF2 MX and it isn't that bad, the dock is a bit on the sluggish side...
