    Macintosh Plus Chirping Noise

Symptoms: 1: When together CRT makes a static-like noise. (like when a CRT is turned off but constant) 2: The Transformer behind the magnet with the "5A" on it (is it the low voltage?) makes a chirping type noise when distant, but when close can also hear a ticking sound as well. 3: Speaker...

    Macintosh Plus Chirping Noise

Really? Yes, I was because all of the new flybacks I've seen don't have that on them... Also, the reason I thought that it was a culprit was because it looks like it flowed down towards the bottom of the Mac at some point. I'm not an expert so please excuse my ignorance. Thanks for pointing that...

What i'm saying is that there was a piece of string in the printer running along the width of the printer underneath the carriage that that broke off, I think that has something to do with it. The carriage moves back and forth fine when i activate a self-test, there is text but it eventually...

Could the flyback be the cause of the Mac regulation problem? I've been hearing that's a common problem. Thanks, Jack

    Macintosh Plus Chirping Noise

Hey, I'm back. Sorry for the absence, I should have said I was taking a break. Anyway, I've started to work on the Mac Plus again. I tried to upload a photo but the website does not want to cooperate with me right now. The picture is of a pair of tubes/light bulbs on the analog board. I'd also...

    Apple //e Lot

Alright, I’m going to look at the //e computers today. Although I’ve noticed that in some instances there’s a little bit more than in the pictures, in this case probably not but I’ll see. For example I saw an eBay listing for a Commodore 64 with accessories but had a very vague description of...

I’ve found a listing on Craigslist about an apple//e lot and was wondering if it’s an ok deal. The lot includes two apple //e computers (both with monitors and Disk II drives), manuals and software, some printers, and an Texas Instruments Ti-99. Pictures:

Hmmmmm... Well then I'm not too sure what to do. Well, I'm going to list all the events that have taken place since this project's start. There was a craigslist post I saw about a working Macintosh Plus, Imagewriter II printer, and all of the start-up disks plus manuals for $75.00 (it was on...

    Macintosh Plus Chirping Noise

I looked in the The Dead Mac Scrolls and it said that the analog board is out of adjustment and needs to be adjusted back to 5.0v DC, but when i try to set the voltage to 5.0v DC the reading on the multimeter goes all over the place and i cannot get a solid reading. Any thoughts on what could be...
