Are you sure the URL of the picture ends in ".jpg, .png, .gif", etc? Some image hosting sites use dynamic links to pics, which typically do not work when embedded with tags.
My LC 575 (well, Performa 578 if you want to get technical) gets daily use. As beachycove said, it's practically silent. I love it! From an aesthetic point of view, it's one of my favorite Macs.
As I've said in another thread here recently, I used to get this a lot with an LC 575...washing the motherboard took care of the problem. It could be cap related, or any number of things. I have no way of knowing whether washing the logic board solved the problem, but a little anecdotal advice...
Short answer: You cannot use TCP/IP over AppleTalk.
Long answer: It is possible, though you need a dedicated computer with LocalTalk and Ethernet ports, running Apple IP Gateway.
I use Apple IP Gateway (available from preterhuman.net) and it only works with classic networking, aka MacTCP. I'm not even sure if it works on System 7.5. It's easy to set up, and it's horribly obsolete.
I remember I got that a lot with my Performa 578. I washed the motherboard, and it went away. Could be cap related, although there are other possibilities.
Terrible, *TERRIBLE* monitor. They are plagued with all sorts of problems, mostly cold solder connections. There was an Apple Repair Program that expired almost a decade ago. Seriously, throw it out.
I talked to a lady at my local Goodwill today...She said unless the computer is brand new, the hard drive is taken out, the parts are stripped and sold off...So there's really zero chance (for me anyway) of finding an old Mac at Goodwill. :-/
Well at least they're not all crushed.
