I found this forum on the web and joined. I searched and search, but I could not find a thread that talked about flashing. If you see it again, could you post a link?
Thanks for the help.

My stock B&W came with a CD drive. I have a apple branded CD of Panther. I have a apple branded DVD of Tiger. I ordered a replacement CD/DVD drive for the B&W, but it has not arrived yet.
Well, if I can set up AppleTalk between Panther/Tiger and the Mystic running 8.1, then that...

While reading up on the B&W, I come across Mac ATA controller PCI cards. It appears that the PCI ATA cards can pass data faster the the ATA bus installed in the B&W. But after a little searching around, I did not find any. Is this the same story as the Sonnet PCI SATA cards...
I must be really stubborn. Just when I am ready to give up and install two hard drives, or install OS 9 and OSX on separate partitions, I try yet again. I keep thinking I am missing an option or something. I have tried installing OS 9 first and always choose the extended format option. Then...
I missed this, sorry. I used Lido 7.56 to format a Scandisk Extream Pro 16 GB CF card:

I made 3...
I must have missed that. I will look again for that info. I am unsure what "flashing" is, but will look into it.
So, are you saying that cards like the Sonnet I posted the picture of (PCI cards made for older Macs) are not made any more, so one needs to flash a PC card?
Thank you for your...
In the old days, before tie wraps, people used waxed string to bundle cables. It is now a lost art. The more cables to lace up, the more art. I have take old audio equipment apart and found lovely lacing of cables inside where the end user would never have see. People who did this had pride...
I can not argue with you Night. It all makes good sense. The main reason I am working on this B&W is to make a support
Mac for my Color Classic Mystic. I want to learn 9.22 and a early version of OSX.
It would be awkward to down load files in OSX and then somehow transfer them to...
Hello....
I was reading about a older card from Sonnet called a Sonnet's Tempo Serial ATA PCI adapter card:
https://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_serial_ata.html
I went looking for a used one, but could not find one.
Are other companies making PCI SATA cards that I could use in my...
I can second that Cory. I first learned about this when a buddy was trying to bring back a Windows 95 machine. It was running some old, outdated software he needed for a old video camera. He was advised to format under the size of the CF to make the CF last longer. So I do not believe it is...
Hello...
To recap, I have a Blue & White G3, 400Mhz, V2 motherboard and a 128 GB solid state hard drive.
At first I instilled 9.2.1 from my Apple branded CD and then updated it to 9.2.2. Then I tried to install Jaguar (10.2.3) from my Apple branded CDs. It would not take it. So I...
I found links to the firmware updates for the Blue & White. But none of the web sites can be accessed from the browsers I have on the blue & white. So I guess I will have to pass on the updates for now, and just press on.
I have the V2 board in my Blue & White. So I hope that...
I had another idea. I have read that Apple issued two firmware updates to the G3 Blue & White. One update is called 1.1 and the second one is called 1.2.
Can I go into my B&W and check which firmware update is installed?
Also, can anyone post a link to the firmware updates?
I should...
I will report back. I just realized that my Tiger disks are DVDs and the stock optical reader in my Blue & White is a CD reader only. Guess I need to upgrade my optical drive.
I do have two Jaguar CDs, so I will try that.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
