I landed a set of 5 original install floppies for the PowerBook 500 series notebooks. I haven't checked but I think it's system 7.1.1.
Now if only I could get the original owner's manuals and box...
Sweet!!! I have a 32S-II they're the best. You'll have to get used to the Reverse Polish Notation (RPN), but once you do it will be faster than using a regular calculator.
Thanks equill. Your responses are always insightful and much appreciated in my book.
It hadn't crossed my mind to use my 7100 as suggested by you. It's an excellent idea. However, I currently live in Nashville and my 7100 stays at my home in Mexico. I won't be going there again until July...
I'm looking to get an external CD drive for my PB540c so I can finally install OS 8. I was wondering if Apple made a CD drive that matched the color and style of the blackbird. If not what would be a nice alternative? Will it support a CD burner?
Thanks
I have bought 6 different PB's throughout the years and 5 of them included the AC adapter. And alot of the 540c's that I see on ebay still include the power supply. You just have to look for it.
It's a better deal just buying an entire 540c instead of the adapter by itself. You not only get an adapter but also spare parts (hard drive, ram, logic board, daughter card, etc.).
I'm having problems with AppleTalk. Every time I restart my laptop it turns off. I can't get LocalTalk Bridge to work unless AppleTalk stays on. I know it's not my PRAM battery because my date and time information all stays intact. I tried disableing all unecessary extensions in case it was...
I swapped out the daughter card and the RAM Module and that seemed to do it. So I guess the memory was corrupted. Thanks for all the advice. javascript:emoticon(':beige:')
I swapped HD and nothing. Now I'm going to try swapping the screen. I think I have a spare one around. Wish me luck. In the meantime please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.
It's some kind of internal issue. I've tried two different AC adapters that work and nothing. I know the computer is getting power from the adapter because it actually turns on (I can hear it and the CAPS LOCK key lights up). However, I don't get the chime or anything. It's not the HD cuz it...
I have a blackbird that stopped working on me. Everything was great and yesterday i started it up and nothing. No start-up chime and black screen. I reset the power manager and nothing. Does anybody have a clue of what might be wrong? Thanks.
