Unforunately, both mirrors are down as far as I can tell.

    ** Free "System 6" SoftWare **

http://mac.thebasingers.com My new site, it's in the vein of Macintosh Garden and HOTU... nowhere near as concise and awesome as the latter, but it's a good place to get some classic 68k games and software. Looking for additions too, there will be a forum soon but until then contact me at...

    OS 7 SIT compression utility?

Disk Image I would appreciate, if at all possible! As for DropStuff, will the shareware version floating about the web work or is it limited?

    OS 7 SIT compression utility?

I'm looking to archive some disks and files, and possibly CDs, is there a good recommended accessible program for OS 7.5.5 to compress to SIT? It seems DropStuff does this, but can only find some shareware versions which I've not tried. Never really tried to do this, only decompressed before, so...

    Macintosh Garden offline?

For a (possibly temporary) solution, I'm assembling a Mac site in the vein of Mac Garden for some of my favorite software and games, many of which are grabbed from MG from when it was around. http://mac.thebasingers.com

    Goodwill haul of the month

Open box, mostly loose discs/jewel cases with manuals. Wish I had a Computer Works anywhere near here... only one Goodwill carries computers here, and the Macs are always gone before I arrive (at least I assume a Mac went with all this stuff).

    Goodwill haul of the month

Okay, so I actually relatively regularly find Macintosh stuff at Goodwill stores in my area (around Asheville North Carolina), but today was particularly good, and had to share. Here's the stuff, mostly software: Starcraft Starcraft Brood Wars Diablo Warcraft Warcraft II Warcraft II...

Magnavox Computer Monitor 80... what is this?

Thanks very much for your reply! A lot of the info I'd been looking for here. I wish it made much of a difference adjusting the knobs... the only ones up front are Volume, Brightness and Contrast. The back ones help a bit (for horizontal/vertical adjustment, etc) however not enough, I'm still...

    SE/30 - With colour screen?

I have a few Macintosh games laying around and got to looking at their system requirements... many have lists of supported systems for colour and black & white. On several games (SimAnt, Lemmings come to mind), the SE/30 is listed as a colour system. I thought the SE/30 was a b&w...

    LC575 68LC040 - CPU info?

Found a 33mhz 68040 in Great Britain via eBay, typing this on my newly-upgraded 575! I will say, that was the easiest and hardest CPU installation I have ever done! Easy in the sense that literally all you do is lift it out... hardest in the sense that it is the tightest-fitting thing ever made...

    LC575 68LC040 - CPU info?

Yeah, that's one of the things I was wondering about... the LC575 seemed to be rather straightforward, as far as you just drop in a 68040 and you're okay, no need for any further cards or switches.

    LC575 68LC040 - CPU info?

Coming to you from my "new" LC575 here :beige: ... and I see in the System Profiler that I have a 68LC040 and I was wondering if all it would take to move to a full '040 is a CPU swap? That seems to be the concensus online, but just wanted to make sure it was that simple. Also, "thousands of...

Magnavox Computer Monitor 80... what is this?

Haha, my thoughts exactly... I doubt I'll be going to get it repaired anywhere (for anything much more than free), unless I find that it becomes worth it to me, and right now it'd be an interesting piece to have but not at all necessary or entirely useful.

Magnavox Computer Monitor 80... what is this?

Thanks for the tips guys.. though, hey, I have no idea what I'm doing but oh well. Opened it up, and aside from a bit of corrosion around the power switch things looked normal. As far as a foreign vertical sweep, I'm not so sure because it has the same weird green pattern accumulating in the...
