but yea i think theres got to be a common reason why so many "cant start/boot up" eevery single pb170 i see on ebay or local classifieds says the same hing!
i see alot of them on ebay that say they cannot boot.. do they have some type of ticking timebomb on the caps or something?
is recapping the fix? it would be stupid if it was as easy as removing the current battery + booting without it inplace.. still plgged in electrically.

do yourself a favour + just get an 8500.. the 7000 series radeons are buggy as hell with os 9 whereas the 8500 + 9000 are perfect + never have an issue.
i doubt your sawtooth was shipped from the factory wih a 7500...if it was it must have been a custom BTO option? because every other sawtooth...
would be wonderful if that was all that was wrong with it.. its about a 30min drive away from my place the guy selling it wants about 25$

all related + neccessary drivers are built into the firmware of the card..
if u are having a problem then perhaps your firmware is corrupt

for example, i have a delta 410 card.. that on windows lets me use it with protools m-powered, whille on mac os x.. its dissallowed by the software (i believe this happens inside the actual executable of the app itself)
the difference in vendor+dev id on this is only 1...

i just bought a 867mhz quicksilver for 40$
its pretty perky compared to both the g4 450mhz agp + the DP MDD 867mhz (it has 1mb more backside cache then the mdd)
cant say im complaining i just need to find a pci card to add serial port to this thing..
