which model airport extreme works in a G5 tower?

In my dual 2.0 there is a model a1026. I think one of the antenna cables are for bluetooth. Dont forget the little plastic "T" shaped antenna on the back of the case. Without it wifi will not work.

    50 G4 Minis (not mine)

I guess you could use them and set up a Apple Xgrid cluster. I always thought that would be a cool thing to try at a larger scale.

What software/game would you like to see a modern remake of?

That gravite control panel look very cool! Strange I never heard of it until now. It would be very interesting to have a look at the source code and try to figure out how he implemented that into system 7.5.x.

What software/game would you like to see a modern remake of?

A lot of great suggestions! Back in the days there were a lot of simple platform games that you could play for 10 minutes,  wandering off doing something else, come back and play another round.  Roboids II comes to mind (Was there ever was a Roboids I btw?) Glypha was another one. Besides...

What software/game would you like to see a modern remake of?

So, this goes as follows: Name a mac game or application that you used and would like to see an updated version of. A short description of what the software does is helpful, especially if its something unusual or obscure. 1.The Grouch init. Kermit pops up from the trash bin and sings a short...

    9600/200MP vs G3 upgrades

It depends. The G3 is heavily based on the 603 architecture, which in itself is inferior to the 604/e. But a couple of clever improvements did put the G3 far ahead of the 603, and in many cases it outperforms the 604/e at the same clock speed. Mainly because of the L2 cache and a redesign of...

Quadra 700 Appreciation - Stories - Got one?

One of my friends that were into Desktop Publishing upgraded from a SE/30 to a Quadra 700 in early -92. Besides having color, he also bought the Apple Cd-rom. Still remember to this day the jaws dropping, when the Pc-guys with their 386s and Win 3.1 saw the setup. One year later a few of the...

    AppleDesign Powered Speakers

A few things I have learned after bulding/repairing several hifi loudspeakers over the years: 1. Measure the depth of the driver you are going to replace. Its very common that you order a replacement driver based on the diaphragm size and mounting hole pattern, just to find out that the magnet...

    Old wireless mouse from 1988

Yep, It works, but I need to hold the thumb button. Probably because I tested it running a minimal system 6 version (380kb) from a floppy. Hmm, it sounds that would effect performance in games where a lot of mouse movement is required.. Sitting snugly in its holder.. :beige: De-yellowing is...

    Old wireless mouse from 1988

Thanks, great info you got there! I haven't disassembled too many old mices lately, but doing so make you appreciate the engineers back then. At the end of the axle that's moved by the rubberball, is a plastic wheel attached. The wheel have a hub with many, thin spokes, almost like a bicycle...

    Old wireless mouse from 1988

Well, I can report that it works :) Without any extra extensions or controlpanels... The suspicious "thumb button" on the side, turned out to connect the mouse to the tranciever. Duplicating the tranciever board, put it inside the Plus chassis, and plug the db-9 connector at the back would...

    Old wireless mouse from 1988

I just couldn't resist! Found two Mac Plus, one old yellow and one platinum, with keyboards, mice, hds, extra floppydrives and a imagewriter for almost free! To one of the Pluses there is a very old wireless mouse connected. It says "BMC Micro Industries, 1988" on the back of the infrared...

    OCing a NewerTech G4 card

The label on the box says g4/350 :O Wich means that I have underclocked it.. :I Well, I guess that's the speed the cpu are tested for, don't want to remove the heatsink and the arctic silver paste right now.. Hmm, guess I have to increment the speed in small steps and run for a few days...
