You're getting back for my comment about you copying those ROMs!
I did pay for a Q605-it's the same as a P475, so there's nothing more to pay for. You mean Apple really made us pay a lot more for one jumper? What the heck!
Actually, I didn't pay for it. I got it out a skip.
I saw that! It's really cute!
Pitty there's no CRT though... I had often thought it would be really cool if someone made a miniture CRT-wouldn't need a very high voltage to run that on.
Hi!
I'm failing to understand exactly how this works. Apparently the same logic board was used for the P475 as for the Q605, but the Q605 had a jumper set. What I'm not getting is that the P475 ran at 22 (or was it 25?) MHz while the Q605 ran at 33 MHz. Does changing the jumper cause the speed...
What's the problem with the PSUs? What are the symptoms? Is it something I should watch out for?
As for the keyboard, I like the switches on the keyboard I've got. I find that mechanical switches are too stiff for my typing style. The feel of the standard keyboard certainly requires some...
I wouldn't recomend it long-term. I disconnected the fan once or twice while listening to bad-cap screech from the loud-speaker. During those five minutes, I managed to burn my fingers on the CPU.
But when I used to run the Mac from a RAM disk I had a bit of fun once or twice by disconnecting...
I'd also be interested in extracting the WDEF resources (if they were using resources yet), as those would be cool to patch into the system file of more modern systems.
That's a lovely machine there! I've got the Performa 475 (same thing-just a different name) and it's also in near-mint condition.
As for keyboards, I love the keyboard which it came with (it was the same one as yours). I find it's nice in that you can rest your hands on the keys and they won't...
Tell your boss that he can't sell it because it's broken (if you can find some way to prove that you didn't break it). Maybe then he'll give it to you.
Hi!
I've finally got round to having another go at my StyleWriter II. But there's a problem...
Whenever I try to print, it says something like "The cartridge is missing or not inserted correctly" even after I've inserted and removed it a hundred times. So I tried reseating the ribbon cable...
No man it's not you. Besides, yours are Mac floppy drives.
What I'm after is PC floppy drives from a friend of Dad's. And by the way he got back to me and I took a hard disk instead. I've shelved this.
Hi!
I ran the installer for System 7.5.3 a few days ago to upgrade my new hard drive for the Mac. It took about ten minutes to do the whole job, but near the end an interesting status message flashed passed briefly.
It was saying "Reading xyz", then "Writing xyz", then "Building xyz" in turn...
