Does anybody have any idea WTF this is? I found it a while ago in the System Folder and just bothered to ask.

Any clue?
Well, I mentioned that I'd post if it got any worse. It reached a milestone a while ago, and I just got around to taking a screenshot. 108.8 megs

Yes, I'm running a ton of crap. And who says OS 9 can't multitask?
Date & Time control panel (for System 7 and above)
Somewhere in the control panel, wherever date and time is changed (System 6 and below)
You can't change the time straight from the menubar, you have to go through the control panels.
Hah, see? They've been seeding us subtle hints about it for over 20 years!
/me obsessively pours through the documentation that caome with his Apple II for messages about OS XI
'Twas but a joke, my good people!
Jeebus, some of y'all need to stop taking things so seriously. Even I know they weren't working on the OS X logo in *insert CD copyright date check here* 1994 :p
I'd totally take you advice Tom, but I can only imagine that a week or so on the base extensions...
Yeah, I agree that the system is taking up 96 megs. It seems to grow a bit with every app I launch; I noticed that under 9.1 on my 6500.
It starts out around 40 when freshly booted, so It kinda confuses me, but w/e. It can grow 400 more before I'll notice ;)
That be 1440x900.
I have no clue to be honest :p I would assume that just having so many apps open, along with not ever rebooting the machine (I seem to be able to go a week in OS 9 before I end up rebooting) got me there. I don't really mind though. With 704 megs overall, who cares? :D But...

Thar be a screenshot if anyone's interested.
I know what you mean about the icons. I'd gotten used to them, then I installed 10.2 on here for the hell of it. Once it booted to the desktop, I was like "HOLY CRAP! Those icons are HUUUUUGE!"

That be from browsing a Power Macintosh 6/7/8100 System install CD version 7.1.2. Don't those little X's look familiar?!?!?
;)
And yes, I'm using OS 9. I have been for about a month now, and the disablement of my main G4 has extended my...
:O :O
Awww man, that's not cool :(
This was my first 68k and first Compact Mac :'(
Is there any way to prolong its life or even prevent complete failure?
Also, would the analog board from a Classic work? I have a Classic with a lobo that's on its way out; perhaps I could mash the two...
My Classic II is having an unusual startup issue. If it's been sitting cold for a while, and it is turned on, here's what it does:
-Flip the power switch.
-Fan and HDD spin up, HDD goes through its little check things. No video and no chime.
-The machine sits there with the fan and HDD going...
I love how they took care of that on the MacBook. Pop out the battery, undo three screws, pop out a little cover thingy, and BAM! HDD and RAM, both just itching to be popped out in a few seconds.
Did you try striping all but the lobo RAM from your LCII? I've noticed that 6.0.8L was pickier about RAM in my Classic II than 7.1. Wouldn't boot properly until I swapped around enough to find sticks that worked.
Mine seems to work fine after doodling on a few traces. Those things are mushy as all get out, but I gotta admit that they're fairly solid-feeling keyboards. Nothing compared to the MacBook, but still pretty solid.
