    Disk images: sort of Catch-22 situation

    You say some have not the right icon and no good creator types. Some disk image formats use the data and the resource fork together to store the disk contents, and if the resource fork is lost, the image et al is useless. I have some images of think c, and they were garbage without the resource...

    PB G4 disk booting help

    That is the Open Firmware boot selector.. It shows you the bootable volumes. Clicking the circular arrow refreshes the menu choices indeed, f.e. because you put a CD in the drive or whatever. I guess the other button boots the selected volume.

    My PowerMac has been delievered!

    It is an Matshita DVD ROM drive... It reads CD's with any problem, so I think dirt shouldn't be a problem. :-x
