    2006's equivalent of a IIfx :P

Intel Xserves are nowhere as noisy as PowerPC models. I'd say that mine sounds about the same as a small running AC compressor unit, instead of a few jet planes taking off as s the case with the latter. When I'm at the console, it can't be heard over the music I play, and when I'm away from its...

Any kind of Xserve? Or just the Intels?

    2006's equivalent of a IIfx :P

What could this be? :?: Specs on the pull-out tab... Assembled in U.S.A.! I guess those iPod sweatshop workers didn't get to put this one together! :p Just like any PC rackmount on the bottom... I was expecting something more flashy! xx( The top case looks a lot better than the...

    TV!

Wow, really nice! Did you get the black ADB keyboard/mouse along with it? Is it still possible to watch TV on it? What with digital-only broadcasts in the US and all...

    1,920,000 of 24bit Portrait Pixels Liberated . . .

I do agree with your girl on the subject of unloading those CRTs |) I used a CRT as my main screen up till 2008 or so, and there have been no CRTs in regular use in this house since last year! Perhaps I'll get a professional 19" just to keep around as a color reference someday.

". . . until AFTER he had my $75 in his pocket! }:) " Oh, you evil... Wonder for how long the guy facepalmed afterwards 8-) Seriously, nice haul for $75! Non-widescreen too! (Although the first pic that shows up under Dell's website makes it look like one)

Stellar specimen of a TiBook! [PICS]

How much is a 'minor' charge on said prehistoric battery? :p I never knew for sure what caused the bubbling paint problem on TiBooks - was it the heat, the user's sweat, substandard paint that couldn't hold up to normal use, or a combination of all the above?

Stellar specimen of a TiBook! [PICS]

    867MHz G4, 256MB PC133, AirPort card installed, 80GB 5400RPM HD, Combo Drive, 32MB Radeon 9000, 1280x854 LCD.

    Yaay, G4 Quicksilver!

The Quicksilver came in 733, 800DP, and 867, while the QS2002 came in 733 (ED model), 800, 933 and 1.0DP. Hence, your model is an original Quicksilver. The differences between QS and QS2002 is minimal (excluding comparisons specifications-wise), but boils down to the following: QS2002 supports...

Stellar specimen of a TiBook! [PICS]

I haven't taken a good in-depth look at the dead drive from the Ti, but I certainly recall that it didn't make unusual noises when the system was powered up. Maybe the platters have been frozen due to stiction stemming from a period of non-usage. It'd be interesting to get its Power-on hours...

    Macintosh 512K in carrying bag

Awesome find! I'm definitely happy (and relieved) to hear of your success getting both drives to an operational state again! :p Do you have plans to do a retr0brighting of it? :approve: First time I've seen that particular carrying case too. They usually come in plain black. What gives?

Where did everyone find their copy of 7.6.1?

I got mine not as media but as a file describing a very large number, and it was labeled "Mac OS 7.6.1.iso" :p Installs fine on my LC475 and in Basilisk II.

    Yaay, G4 Quicksilver!

RAM wise they should be compatible, it's all PC133. Is it the Quicksilver or Quicksilver 2002 that you've got?

Stellar specimen of a TiBook! [PICS]

Thank you, good sir, for the well wishes you have for my machine :) You mentioned that yours was bought new, did you purchase with AppleCare while at it? Funny. The TiBooks I've owned have never died of their own accord. The last one I had, a 550 DVI, worked perfectly until I absent-mindedly...

Stellar specimen of a TiBook! [PICS]

Got this two days back! It had a dead disk but 20 minutes poking with various screwdrivers along with a dead iBook G4 obliterated the problem! In A.D 2011, Conquest was beginning... The bottom's in pretty good condition, sans one rubber foot! :-/ I said "pretty good" and not...
