    1400 G3 Upgrade

Scored off of eBay a Sonnett Crescendo G3 upgrade for my 1400 project. 400mhz. $30 shipped. It's "unknown if it works" because the 1400 he was using it in stopped working. Fingers crossed! Next step 1400c screen replacement.

    Simple alarm clock for Duo?

I'm looking to turn one of my extra powerbook duos into a simple alarm clock for my endtable. I figured it would make the perfect alarm clock: Large, dimmable LCD display, small footprint, and mine runs off a CF card so totally silent (until I need it to wake me up!). There are plenty of these...

    Need a decent PowerBook (603 or G3)

You can't use a wireless card on a Duo -- no slots. Great choice otherwise though, you can recell the battery for about $30.

    Welcome back!

It should be remembered that no one here is trying to be hostile, etc. -- its a freakin internet forum about old macs, its not the end of the world. Many of just simply prefer the older theme on a site we view many times a day! :beige:

    Welcome back!

Yes, the names on the right are ridiculous. And no, I wouldn't imagine this would transfer well to an old browser as it is a CSS based layout! I don't feel like the target audience of these forums were considered. What was wrong with phpBB2 anyway?

    Welcome back!

Kill this theme with fire. There's no hierarchy, and it doesn't fit this group well.

    What PowerBook do I want?

I've been hardpressed to find a 2400 anywhere, and I can say that the 2300c is dog slow on the web, even with 48mb of RAM.

    4 G3s

Okay so he decided he wanted to keep the lampshade before I got there. Here's what I got for $30: 450mhz B&W G3, decent case condition 512mb RAM, DVD Decoder, SCSI Card, DVD-RAM drive, 12GB HD, ZIP This chimes and apparently boots but I have no VGA monitor! (need to get on that). I'm...

NuBus CPU upgrade in Duo dock?

I think the closest is 4/5 A, so I'll try those first.

    4 G3s

I'm going to offer $120 for everything, then $140 if he says no.

    4 G3s

Okay so I'm picking them up tomorrow (Sunday). He also offered me a 15" iMac G4 (which I've always loved the design of): 700mhz, 768mb, broken optical drive, $125. What do we think?

    4 G3s

I've done that a couple times, maybe will post another ad there soon.

NuBus CPU upgrade in Duo dock?

beachycove, I'm thinking of recelling the battery in mine too. I've got 48mb of RAM and a 1GB CF, and the machine works perfectly. Such a shame that I can't take it with with me without a working battery. I already took one apart, drew a schematic of how it went back together, and kept all...

    4 G3s

Yep, I actually put up a WTB add for old macs. One person tried to sell me an SE for $400, then I got this offer.

    4 G3s

"two b&w G3s, two imacs" $30. Will report tomorrow when I pick them up.

NuBus CPU upgrade in Duo dock?

Actually I did some more reading and found that there arent any CPU upgrades that go straight into the Nubus slot (correct me if I'm wrong) but into the Cache/PDS slot of Nubus powermacs. I am also under the impression that any NuBus card works fine in a dock. In fact I have an ethernet card...

NuBus CPU upgrade in Duo dock?

Can I put a NuBus processor upgrade in my Dock II for use with my 2300c? Is that even possible?

    A small conquest

Posting this from Lynx, via a serial cable to my Classic II!

    What is this (PCI) card?

In my parents' old 6400, there was a video out card, and then a separate, optional video in card that attached directly to the video out card as an additional module. I'd guess something like that, if not exactly that.

    A small conquest

Found a Keyspan Serial->USB adapter on ebay, new in box, and won it for 99 cents, (plus $8 shipping :?: ). My Classic will soon become a terminal for my Hackintosh!
