    A Pile Of iBooks

Cool! That will be fun - I love working on the G3 iBooks. Once you've started stripping down machines etc and have an insane pile of bits, make sure you upload a photo or two!

    Two-day conquest

Update! So the pallets arrived into Perth and I carted them back to my place. The only piece that was damaged was the 8100 which had a fairly hard hit on top. Everything else survived the (3,900km) journey by road freight. Thankfully not a journey I had to make! Here's the pallets on the back...

    Lots of goodies

Wow, that 6400 with all the bits is a really cool setup. Are you able to elaborate on the "Apple Magic Collection" software? Also, does the 6400 have any goodies? AV card, bit of RAM etc?

    Two-day conquest

I own only Fords myself but am not interested in the whole Ford vs Holden argument that some meat-heads seem to have here in Aus. The WB with the 202 would have been totally bullet-proof. I would love an HQ one day with a 253, I really like their style and the sound of the 253's but I think a...

    Two-day conquest

I have a soft spot for the 660AV as it was one of the first "newer" machines I had, after my Color Classic. The VZ Commodore ute was a pleasure to drive, I really liked it and it still had plenty of power loaded up. 32 hours drive there and back would be too much for me too Jason. Thankfully...

    Two-day conquest

Thanks guys. I don't remember what cards any of the machines had in them, I just grabbed whatever looked salvageable. All the IIci's and IIcx's I grabbed had cards inside I know that much - they all looked video related. As for what's left, here's a rough idea of what I remember off the top of...

    M0001 with original packaging!!!

What an amazing conquest. How many can be left in the world available to buy in THAT sort of condition?! Next to none, let alone for $100.

    Two-day conquest

Most will know about the mammoth conquest jsarchibald carried out and shared with us in July - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16410. Anyway, I've just recently returned from the same property thanks to jsarchibald putting me in contact with the owner. I am lucky enough that the company I work for has...

    Nothing Special - Just a 512k

Good score with the 512k. The 512k would be my favourite. Great picture that first one. Interesting that it was a 128k before it was upgraded. I have a 128k that has been upgraded to a Plus, pretty strange I think.

    Perth conquest

Everything works! The only machine that doesn't boot is the PowerBook Duo (230). Very happy with the G4 MDD and the iMacs in particular. Removed the clock battery from the SE/30 straight away. Evidence of leaking capacitors on the logic board, however it boots to System 7 on a 40MB hard drive...

33mhz 030 Upgrade for my CC- ebay

You entered a contract by winning the item and unless it's written there in the description it means nothing. Payment to be received within 15 minutes of auction ending was NOT in that description. Sounds to me like he changed his mind selling it - keep an eye out incase it gets re listed, bet...

    PowerCD and Remote for $127

100% worth the $127 IMO. The charcoal speakers were indeed optional, not packaged together with the PowerCD. Nice work, love your collection.

    iPod mini!

The iPod minis are great. What colour?

Macintosh Plus Keyboard M0110A security device / lock

Personally I like it and it's cool to see an actual Apple branded one of these. However, I know with the compact Macs, it is indeed near impossible to remove them outwards without snapping something but I find they're easily pushed further inwards (the way they were installed) and through the...

Scored 2 large credenzas for my Mac Collection

The stand under the SE and StyleWriter he actually made if I'm not mistaken - check out his website. Not sure about the one under the Classic.

Possibly the BIGGEST conquest any of us have ever made!

Nice to see you share the story Jason. Seeing the pictures and reading about what you picked up makes me want to jump up and head over there right now! Probably as close as a couple of weeks away now.

    AppleDesign Speakers II & AppleCD 300e Plus - $20

Thanks for the pics and advice. It's experience like yours that will prove invaluable to noobs like myself. I've got a Mac SE SuperDrive model (the only one I've seen in Australia) which needs some serious "retro-brighting" so I need all the advice/tips/hints you can give so I don't ruin it! Dave.
