Nice work reviving it. A top case replacement is good fun with a unibody hahaha!
I've got a mid 2010 15" MacBook Pro 2.53 unibody which had beer spilt on it. Same deal, just waiting on a top case for it to try and bring it back to life!
Next time though, we need progress shots :p
Yep, it's a display model. The guy that gave it to me reckons once Apple were done with them, some ended up at Ikea and other furniture shops displays. Interesting story. I wonder how he acquired it. I didn't ask. I should have really asked if he knew anything about the case mis-match too. My...
Had a good (and unexpectedly Apple related) day today including yet another conquest! Didn't think I should really make yet another new topic...
Just picked up:
x3 Mac Plus all intact and with programmers switches too! They're so dirty/grubby I can't tell which ones (if any) are Platinum or...
Krye, you're right. I'm surprised they were thrown out instead of ending up on ebay or something. There's always someone advertising locally about wanting Apple stuff too. I left a note in the letterbox yesterday to let me know if they want to offload any other Apple stuff. We'll see.

The 6360 looks really nice cosmetically, a bit dusty inside but complete. Looked inside both 7100's and neither have hard drives. No Sonnet upgrades in sight (as I suspected).
One of the 6100's is complete except for a missing foot BUT then I snapped one of the lid clips opening it... I forgot...
Yes, it's rare these days compared to the past where it wasn't unusual to see at least one or two Macs each time!
The SE used to have a Radius video card which has been removed (only the bezel still in place) and looks like the floppy drives are gone (just empty holes). Suspect it'll be a parts...
Well, none of it is particularly inspiring however it's a conquest none the less...
On my way around to my Sisters house (visit for her B'day) and spotted a lonely Mac SE on the curb side.
Pulled over and jumped out and there was also a pair of 6100's, a pair of 7100's and a Performa 6360 so...
I have a feeling there's not going to be any 275 or 300MHz boards BUT I'll have a look during the week. I bet they're all 5200/75 boards or something
The 9150/120 will only be mine for a week or two. It's really cool but I know someone who will appreciate it much more than me so it will join HIS collection. He has some other WGS's (a WGS 60 and a WGS 7250 from memory) and we also share an ANS 500 between us.
I removed the tape drive bezel...
Yep, I think you're both right. The 6100/66 board has a hand written sticker on it dated 1995, $3000 !!! No wonder it didn't get used...
Here's some shocking pictures I took while unloading it all on Saturday. Bad quality and I should have taken better ones but excitement and all that...
Brand-stinking-new 6100/66 logic board still in the box and four brand new 6100 style case "feet" with rubbers still in the packet... Wonder if I should use them for my 6100 or not!?!
I didn't take many photos of this lot before I sorted through it but I've got a few iPhone pics I'll upload.
I can't remember the difference between 8500 and 8600 PSU's personally. I just remember that every 8500 I ever owned either popped it's PSU within weeks of me owning it OR it already had a blown PSU when I bought it. Makes me wonder if this one will even work... It looks new to be honest.
I was...
Yeah I know, weird hey. I was surprised to see the front say 5300 not 5400... It's beige, with the directors chair image in the top left corner. I wonder if it's genuine or if it's just had a logic board and front bezel swap. It needs some work (broken plastic vent on top) and I'm yet to even...
Loaded up my panelvan with a whole stash of Apple gear Saturday, only just finished sorting through it and packing it into shelves in my shed before it got dark.
As these larger conquests tend to be, it was all free. The guy used to own an Apple repair centre locally.
Parts:
stack of logic...
Nice score in that condition and with the box. I remember those boxes (and these iBooks) from when they were new or very close to.
We must have had several of those boxes here at work at one stage. They weren't "old" or cool at the time so I chucked out every last one :(
THAT display is one...
