Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
It's most definitely a 128k, with the 400k original FDD. You can tell from the pics.
M0001 we all know is a 128k. The "P" on the end (as previously mentioned) is because it has the "international" power supply 110-250v...
All my 128k's, 512k's and Plus's have the "P" on the end, which is usual...
It's cool folks, I'm not going to be able to get this idea off the ground. At least not for this particular machine. It's a shame the seller wasn't interested in shipping (but I understand, it's not easy).
If anyone else wants it, go for it. I WILL have a Mac Plus ED one day... Just not this...
Well, I've found THIS: http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/computers-en-software/apple-desktops/m666796778-macintosh-plus-ed.html?c=8c285449651fa109c354bbabe740c1b&previousPage=lr
But they aren't interested in shipping/packing and said pickup only unfortunately.
Would be good if we could get some...
So we all know that a LOT of 512k Macs were upgraded to Mac Plus during the mid to late 80's, via "upgrade kits" that Apple released...
That means, you still find an odd hybrid Mac that consists of a 512k front bezel (+CRT and analogue board) with a Mac Plus rear bucket and logic board. I have...
I've found a possible Mac conquest however it's located in Delft Netherlands!!
What a long shot, but is anyone within reasonable distance and can help me out at all?
Oh ok, cool thanks.
Don't think that's a good idea for the flower power (being a printed pattern) but will keep it in mind for the clear plain plastics.
Love the Ruby iMacs. Only colour I'm missing now!!
Hope to see pics once you've cleaned it up. That's always a big part of the enjoyment for me!
mcdermd - how will you go about "cleaning" the yellowed iMac G3 case?
I have a friend with a Flower Power which is yellowed on one side and I've got a Bondi with a yellowed CRT bezel so very keen to know of any tricks!
Had a wanted advert locally for an M0001ED (Platinum) and had a phone call. Usual deal - "I've got one but you must take the lot."
Turned out the M0001ED was actually beige (damn) but he had some other interesting bits so we haggled and struck a deal.
The stash:
Macintosh 512k (M0001E) -...
Another lovely PowerCD. So weird. So cool.
P.S. if anyone reading this thread has a PowerCD but is missing the base - let me know! I have a base hanging around looking for a partner!
AWESOME Mac you have there Macdrone. What an amazingly lucky find. Would love to have something like that myself. Hold onto it tight and look after it for us all 8-o
Looks like a Quicksilver one to me, not Graphite.
Graphite has the blueish grey logo (like the original G4). Usually they were 15" ones.
Quicksilver has the silver grey logo (like the Quicksilver G4) - were available in 17" and 22"
And the mirror logo models - 17" and 20"
I have my fingers crossed for you that it doesn't need re-capping!!!
ALL of my caddy-load SCSI Apple CD drives are dead or almost dead and all have leaking caps :(
Very nice! I'd love a 20" iMac one day... They just look well proportioned, whereas the 15" and 15" not so much (IMO).
All being USB2.0 is a real bonus.
Nice score with the Indigo iBook.
I've had thoughts of collecting the set... But it seems they're hard to find for bargain prices!
I have a Graphite 300 and a Keylime 366 personally. I LOVE the keylime, my favourite by far.
I have lots of stuff still in original boxes however the only thing "BNIB" or "NOS" I own is a copy of Hypercard, still shrinkwrapped.
Boxed stuff is cool however it's hard to store, hard to look after and protect and doesn't really do much for me personally. I can appreciate it but am not...
If you have the room, I'd get the lot anyway. Keep a good one and put the rest in the attic/basement.
Makes me wonder if "one day" they'll be like ANS's - very few left and a handful of collectors that would still PAY for one.
