    Nice pickup.

Retr0brite and White Apple Pro Keyboards

Hmmm I was hoping someone might have tried this too... Would love to get my white Pro keyboards looking good again.

    Conquest One: iPod mini

Nice one. I bought five off the same seller, one of each colour of the 2nd gen 4GB and a 1st gen 4GB gold (just because he had one). Three out of my five only seem to need a battery too! I count them as a conquest, they're vintage to an extent...

    Macintosh ED Photos

Thanks for posting those pictures jsarchibald. My Macintosh ED would have (once) been identical to yours. I only have the front bezel now (as I must have stripped it for parts back in the day when I was younger and stupid-er). Now I know what the rest of it would have looked like once... Would...

Brand new copy of System 7.1.1 Pro!

I vote: only open it if you don't already have another (already opened) copy of it. I don't see much 'value' in unopened vs opened software of this vintage, it's just cool to see it still in it's shrink wrap!

AUS - Who wants some booty? You've gotta work for it though

Hmmm, so is this still happening? What is left?

    Those more rare compact variants

Thanks for the reply Mac128. I've never seen a 128k based Mac ED mentioned before either, whereas I have seen mention of a Mac ED based on 512ke specs (as well as Mac Plus ED based on the the regular Mac Plus). You're right when you mention these illusive Macs coming into existence, hence me...

    Those more rare compact variants

Seems I may have confused some, or perhaps my thread has been misunderstood. There are reference to a few of these less common models scattered about the place here. I know they all exist. Nowhere else though have I seen any photographs or anyone specifically acknowledging their existence...

    Those more rare compact variants

Does anyone have one of those more "rare' compact variants? Is anyone willing to put up a picture or two of theirs? Specifically I'm thinking along the lines of these modes: Macintosh 512ke platinum Macintosh ED Macintosh ED platinum Macintosh Plus ED Macintosh Plus ED platinum Macintosh...

    Look at this!!!!

$2,184.89 as the winning bid. Just over two and a half grand AUD. Wow!

    What do you guys think?

Wow, $40 is a bargain, really. I guess it's different over here (they never sold outside the US) but I paid a lot more than that for my system. Although it was more complete and included shipping to the other side of the world! Can you put up some pics of the beast?

    RAM!

Nice! Good luck that they're 64MB each - would be a treat!

    Recent conquests

My TAM arrived today - was quicker than I thought it'd be! First thing I did when I pulled it out of the box was switch over the voltage on the base unit, set it up then took an iPhone pic... Pretty bad pic but you get the idea :) For anyone that's interested, the official postage cost was...

    PowerBook G4 Titanium

They are nice machines! I remember when they were new I always thought they were the coolest. Such a jump from the G3 PowerBooks (even though I like them and they were great machines too). To be honest I traded it (and a pile of iBook G3's) for a G4 dual 500 tower I had hanging around :) Now...

    PowerBook G4 Titanium

Picked up a cosmetically immaculate 400MHz Titanium PowerBook G4 last week, wasn't powering on and needed CD drive replacement. Had a spare 500MHz one at home, working but with a smashed screen - made one out of the two. New specs are 500MHz, 768MB RAM, 20 GB HD, DVD-ROM, Airport - not bad for...

    Power Mac G4 Cube

    Nice conquest!!! Love the cubes.

    Recent conquests

Shame about the 7600 but I do prefer the tower case design of the 96xx series and will get it all running one way or another. TAM shipping bill was included in an agreed overall price, but the seller and myself decided it would be between 150 and 250 USD.

    Recent conquests

Well the weekend just gone I had a proper look over the 7600 G4 and found that in the optional zip drive bay it had a 30 GB IDE hard drive with a SCSI adapter on it! WEIRD.... Anyway, I dusted out the 7600, made sure everything was seated correctly and powered it on. Smelt like burning and...

    Recent conquests

Yeah I posted up in the TAM thread too - what can I say, I'm pretty excited and it's still weeks away! Secondly the 7600/G4 should be good fun to play around with.

    Recent conquests

Been inactive a little while on the forums, but added two items just recently to my conquest list. Was lucky enough to pick up a PowerMac 7600/200 with a Sonnet G4-400MHz processor upgrade, 1GB RAM (8x 128MB), Sonnet USB2/FireWire400 combo card and an additional video card with DVI and VGA all...
