I've the same issue, planning to swap the caps on the inverter board. Figure that'll do it. Doing the screen caps anyway, but I think the inverter caps should fix the contrast drift.

The lines and triangles around the border are actually normal, that's the circuitry edges of the screen panel. If you're not getting display at all though, you should definitely recap first if you haven't yet. There's a thread here that goes over a bit of that process...

This is fantastic. the LCD on my PB160 isn't anywhere near this bad yet, but I think the degradation is starting, and was planning to replace the caps. Thanks for the video, it'll be invaluable to the effort.

Good note, thanks. I'd imagine it still draws far less power than an in-use SCSI drive  I'm surprised 7.1.x even supports drives that large, the 80MB in my PB160 seems practically cavernous.
