I don't have time to edit down the image sizes but here's what came in the box: http://andrevas.net/images/appletalk/
I honestly don't know anything about Apple Talk. I already have two AAUI Ethernet adaptors, so honestly I may not even use any of this. need to educate myself, see if this...
going to pick this up tonight. free stuff is nice. I imagine I don't need all of this since I only have the two Powerbooks so if anybody wants the rest of it, PM me. I actually specifically promised the guy that I would give anything I don't use myself to someone here instead of tossing it.
the...
I think what he's suggessting is that you have a microfracture problem with solder joints on the board somewhere there and that baking the board in the oven for a short time might fix it. sounds plausible to me :p just need to keep the temp low and duration short obviously. :p
the PowerLogix Cube enclosure relocates the VRM along with providing additional ventilation space for only 20 dollars more than the kit alone at YMC...
yeah I don't know how it might be in Canadia with ISP regs but that is crappy that they say you have to use their router or will deny you tech support.
do you know what model router it is though? even though it's from your ISP there still might be a status page/control panel you can view from...
why is it in this day and age there are still lots of people that don't own cameras? it's not hard to get an inexpensive one new that doesn't suck terribly or buy one that doesn't really suck at all second hand.
I have a pretty old yet still fully functional 4MP Kodak with half-decent macro...
most of my Zip cartridges are solid (I have a lot of them), they haven't left my house ever and my house has a gnarly old aluminum roof that damn near kills all cell reception in the house =P but I hear ya on even solar flares killing unshielded magnetic media. but so far no clicks of death from...
I got a power supply for the Zip Drive for a buck at UCSB Surplus 8-) and I still have the install floppy turns out so I'm basically dumping the 520's drive in StuffIt archives to the 520c with the Zip and either leaving them there or FTPing them as .bin files to load in the emulator.
the IMG file is for the Bloodbath CD. I'm trying to grab the game's resource files. I tried using ResEdit to unhide the files but the mounted IMG is locked even if I tell Shrinkwrap to default to mounting images unlocked, so that didn't do anything. I had found an attribute list to use ResEdit...
title says it all. trying to extract hidden files from an IMG file for an old game, can't seem to figure it out, searched a bunch here and everywhere and didn't find much.
and problem solved, ended up figuring it out
I now have it booting up just fine and have Open Transport 1.1.2 installed, now I can backup the 520 via FTP like the 520c and only need another AAUI transponder so I can do both at the same time, woohoo.
UPDATE
I found a System 7.5 installer on the drive, however it's telling me it cannot install to the disk (am I missing something?)
off to Google again.
edit: read the official Apple Installation Guide for 7.5, did not know about the command key shortcut to select clean install. IT'S WORKING...
