TattleTech & System 7.6.1 on Macintosh IIfx crashes

It is strange however that they’re crashing only then one switches to network section of the main window.I’ve successfully produced a text report with the network info without crashing.

TattleTech & System 7.6.1 on Macintosh IIfx crashes

Hi all, I’ve experienced an unexpected end on Error 1 when TattleTech tries to guess an information about network. It happens straight on Macintosh IIfx under System 7.6.1 only. On System 7.5.5 the same TattleTech app displays network information smoothly. I tried this on the freshly installed...

    Macintosh Portable ExpressModem?

Wow! Thank you! It is all I wished to know. I’ll try to connect my Portable with DAA from PowerBook 180 ExpressModem.

    Macintosh Portable ExpressModem?

Yep, I've got this point right. Basically, I'm trying to find the answer here: is it possible to use a relatively modern DAA dongle from PowerBook 100-series ExpressModem for the Macintosh Portable 2400 Int'l Modem as is.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

I’ve read a late thread on this board where it was told of never plugging Portable without a battery due to having the power circuit becoming dangerously unstable.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

I came to the same conclusion initially. The power adapter is using only to charge a battery, that's all.

    PowerBook ExpressModem DAA pinout

Hi, thank you. I have the same modem and DAA in my PowerBook 180c, may look at this dongle on my own. Trying to figure out the pinout for the modem in my Portable, actually. Both ports look the same but it does not guarantee that they're compatible with each other.

    PowerBook ExpressModem DAA pinout

Hi all, I’m looking for pinout of PowerBook 100 series ExpressModem DAA port. Are they all same or have some changes between models? I’m especially interested in finding a possible pinout difference between Apple ExpressModem and Int’l XP 2400 modem used in Macintosh Portable.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

What do you think about this explanation?

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

Well, from what I've learned reading about the power delivery scheme in Portable, greater amperage is the direct way to disaster. As I understand, this will stress out the power circuits and cause them to fail. That is why I'm not going to risk it.

    Macintosh Portable ExpressModem?

Well, I'm stuck here. There's no pinout available for DAA port either for ExpressModem or for Int'l Portable 2400 modem. Could someone please help to determine if it is possible to use the actual ExpressModem DAA dongle on the 2400 portable modem port? I don't have any idea about the...

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

Trying to resurrect my original PowerSupply now. It's in a really bad state, but hopefully, we could restore it.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

Mine is a non-backlit one. I've read many of TechKnight posts here, he is simply a stunning expert professional.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

OK, I ordered the stabilized power supply with output params as exact as the original one had (7,5V-1,5A). I'll perform the check of output voltage conformance before using this PSU as a spare for my Portable.

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

yep, I've got this after reading almost every thread about Portable power circuits on this and other forums, BEFORE plugging anything into my Macintosh. Don't want to risk damaging the fragile old electronics doing something stupid and hasty. You're doing right, pointing such things out for...

Macintosh Portable, feeding 7,5V, 1A instead of 1,5A - will it work

Is it healthy for Macintosh Portable to be fed by the power supply giving 7,5V-1.0A instead of nominal 1.5A? I’m looking for exactly compatible power adapter, yet they’re hard to find there.

Macintosh SE - memory size switching resistor

I’ve preformed the “real work” check by booting my 4MB SE into System 7.5 and making all the remaining memory used by launching Excel. Yes, it worked flawlessly. I didn’t cut anything.

    Macintosh Portable ExpressModem?

Well, I have a standard Apple ExpressModem DAA from PowerBook 180. The port is same yet I’m not sure about the compatibility with the Portable modem card. Could someone please provide a pinout?
