Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove a slider door from PB100 battery without damaging it?
I’m having trouble with the original battery which is dead, but inserting it inside the PB100 disconnects the supplemental PRAM battery pack from the circuit. I’m thinking of keeping just the front panel to...
Hi,
is it possible to expand the memory for PowerBook 100 by the memory card from PowerBook 170? It seems like both model are using 100ns PSRAM. However, I don’t want to risk plugging the RAM without asking for clearance here.
I have Apple Personal Modem made for 110v. It powers up through a good voltage transformer which converts the power from 220 to 110v. Is it safe to plug this modem to the serial port of my European Macintosh 512k (220v nattive)? I suspect there could be some grounding issues but I’m not sure.
Recently I’ve got international version of Macintosh 512k Extended with the original keyboard. Keyboard has a British keys layout. Booting original System 1-4 I checked key mapping using the Key caps accessory and found that the period key and several others are mapped wrong. However under...
Update: I disassembled the book, carefully removed and cleaned all daughter boards. After this procedure system clock were reset to zeroes. Assembling my PowerBook back I powered it and finally clock are running normally again.
My PowerBook 180c works perfectl, except system clocks. Today it started to increase fast by each tick. It looks like the system timer increases randomly.
What should I check first?
I’ve got Macintosh LC few weeks ago. The machine itself is in the relatively good condition. I’m going to make a full recap, cause original capacitors are leaky.
It is interesting to notice two insertion pin sockets for fan and speaker instead of the typical surface contact-based assembly for...
I’ve recently got the french version of Apple IIc. It may sound stupid yet I can’t find the # character on my keyboard. Of course it‘s possible to switch to the US QWERTY by pressing down the keyboard change key. I’m just curious if Apple buyers from France had to do the same keyboard switching...
Google translated,
The tragedy came suddenly ...
One day, when I started Portable (non-backlit / RAM 2MB / HD 40MB / System 7.0.1), which had not been started for about a week, "Sad Mac" suddenly restarted .... many times. The same is true. Even though the HDD is rotating properly .... It is...
Well, I found that the CPU alert does not prevent system to switch network settings from OT to classic MacIP. However TattleTech still crashes on network info after restart. Disabling AppleTalk doesn’t help either. Could some other owner of Macintosh IIfx reproduce this please?
Perhaps the bug is known. I can reproduce it either on real IIfx, or on Basilisk emulator. However System 7.6 just refuses to switch back from OT mode, which is in fact functioning pretty well.
Macintosh IIfx has a 32bit-clear ROM and m68030 CPU and thus it can run anything from System 6.0.5 to 7.6.1. I have 32MB RAM onboard so it’s sufficient to run System 7.6 pretty good.
