My Quadra 660av chimes when started, displays a white screen and has a working mouse pointer. Initially I can hear the disk start to access but not for long as it gets stuck at that point. Are there any other diagnostics or boot options I could try to use to figure out what the issue might be?

Thanks for the advice. I've no intention of throwing it out. Worst case scenario is that I'd find someone in the community to take care of it if I can't get it working. I even have the special adapter to connect it to my Quadra.
