Well it turned out that the 343S0129-01 DFAC2 chip was in fact bad. I took the one from a bad LC550 board and installed it into the Colormacintosh and I now have sound again. I did check to make sure there were good solder points on the original chip before removing it. It was perfect... It must...
I have two ROM 03 Apple IIgs systems that gives error "SYSTEM BAD 06010000" When I run the built in Diagnostics. From what I looked up it seems to be an issue with the built in SERIAL IC on the main board. Is that correct or is the issue something else? IF I disable the modem port in the control...
Thanks bibilit. I just wanted to make sure to exhaust all checks prior to doing that. I do have one spare off a bad board I can use to swap I just wanted to make sure there werent any "known things" to check first.
So I have two color classics. One I recapped both the logic board and analog board a couple years back and it works fine. The other is a machine I have been getting piece by piece. A friend gave me a color classic chassis with a broken LC550 board and no rear cover and I very recently got a...
I mean as of now the SCSI bus not working is the only problem in the machine. But its a big problem. I am close to it being working but not close enough.
You can see what happened on this thread: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/macintosh-classic-stalls-booting-when-
It didnt go well and I got burnt out so I put it back in storage to try and tackle another day and move on to other projects..
But I can say, to this date.. Never found a...
im really happy that some of these boards are being remade on these macs. But i have a question. Has anyone tried making a new replacement for the original mac analog board (128, 512, and plus) as these have always been more problematic than the logic board?
Sure ,but that doesnt explain why they had to make a cable to sell over a small adapter which does the same thing. I appreciate your input, but making a whole cable to charge customers for what a simple small adapter could do is just ridiculous and wasteful.
I found 4 cables each about a foot long. Db 25 Female on one end and DB 25 MAle on the other end. They have part numbers 590-0166-A and 590-0029-00
They all say MODEM ELIMINATOR
I want to sort and categorize my mess of peripherals and cables so does anyone know the uses for these cables?
Like I mentioned the keyboard passes to the board via the rainbow ribbon cable and then the grey one connects onto the mainboard where the keyboard normally would. I suppose something is missing that connects to the J1 connector... Possibly a keyboard or numerical keypad. I really have no idea.
I was repairing an original rev0 Apple II someone brought me. They had bought it online. When I opened it I found that the keyboard in the apple II didnt connected to the motherboard directly. Instead it plugged into a female socket on this daughterboard and the daughterboard plugged into the...
yep, they are genuine and work. From what I can tell they are used but pristinely clean. There are tiny solder balls and solder smudges you might miss without magnification where the legs must have been cleaned and removed of solder. i made sure to clean then all thoroughly before using them. I...
I just wanted to give a final update on the SCSI chips I bought from UTsource. They arrived and they work fine. So it was a good purchase and the LC is working now; even installed a BlueSCSI in it.
