Hey guys, I just received a Macintosh Portable M5126. I bought a battery from 360alaska and it works very well.  :) Battery pictures (thanks, alaska!): Booting up: It'll probably need to be recapped soon. It also came with the original carrying case which is really cool.  :p

I use CD-RWs all the time and they work for me on my Bondi Blue iMac and such.

Definitely need to get a floppy emu as well, but I'd like a working hard drive too :p

I love the Welcome to Macintosh screen as well. That's why I was asking if there was a way to get it back. It's cool.

I haven't seen any cheap replacements. The SCSI2CF and SCSI2SD solutions seem kinda pricey.

The machine is a 6100/60. It has the Welcome to Macintosh when it first starts, but once it starts loading, it goes into the Mac OS screen.

Yeah. The CD drive in the Mac is broken though. I wanted to put 7.6 on it but I guess that has to wait until I can get a working drive. I wish there was a way to get the "Welcome to Macintosh" boot screen instead of the Mac OS boot screen in 7.5+.

My downloading problem seems to be fixed by updating StuffIt to 5.5. For some reason I only had 4.0.1 on it before.
