    A/UX dual boot problems

Ah, I needed to use a newer startup disk picker. The one from 7.5.3 seems to work fine.

    A/UX dual boot problems

I tried using the "System Picker" utility, which led to a Happy Mac at reboot, then an automatic reboot, and then blinking question floppy. So no dice there.

    A/UX dual boot problems

You can cancel the A/UX startup, but that still wouldn't fix the issue of me not being able to boot off of the other partition.

    A/UX dual boot problems

Hey all, I'm having issues with dual booting a regular Mac OS system + A/UX. I have the A/UX part working, the issue is that it refuses to boot from the Mac OS system disk. When I select it with the Startup control panel and reboot, it reboots off of the MacPartition anyway. Here is a picture of...

Transferring files over to A/UX machine with no network

Ah -- interesting! I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. I have looked through that faq but must have missed that. Thanks so much.

Transferring files over to A/UX machine with no network

I am using a PC, yes, but I am transferring them over with HFVExplorer. Also, I'm using tar in A/UX to unarchive them. This isn't resource forks getting destroyed; HFVExplorer just doesn't seem to properly raw copy them. Sadly I don't have a SCSI Zip drive.

Transferring files over to A/UX machine with no network

I am having trouble getting files (specifically tar files) over to my SE/30 running A/UX. I try to transfer them over floppy using HFVExplorer but it destroys the files, even when I do it as a supposedly raw copy. They are not able to be extracted. Tar xvf (file) displays nothing with the files...

    SE/30!

Picked up an SE/30 with no sound. I'm guessing I'm going to need to recap it. For now, I've cleaned the board, upgraded it from 5 MB of RAM to 8 MB (best I could get it to with what I have on hand), installed a ROM-inator II, and put in a SCSI2SD. I've installed A/UX 3.0.1. I'd like to...

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

Yes, I can see that Macintosh folder but the problem is that when I launch the BeOS Launcher it doesn't detect anything bootable.

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

I have tried using imgburn to burn it and no dice. BeOS_Tools (the Windows track) is seen by the Mac. I have also tried a toast image and a bin/cue that I've found to no avail so I don't think it's the copies (but of course that's possible). Edit: I have now tried 3 different images from...

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

What software did you use to burn the image with? I am trying to burn 5 Pro as well.

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

I don't have Toast for Intel Macs and I'd have to set up my iMac G4 and install OS 9 to try Toast on that so I'd rather not. I tried LiquidCD on macOS which seemed to burn fine but once again BeOS_Tools is mounted on the Mac. Is there a way to only burn the Mac portion or something?

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

Have any suggestions? I've tried PowerISO, ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP, and Brasero.

    Can't get BeOS burnt properly

I can't seem to get BeOS 5 burned properly so as to show the proper Mac OS part of the disk. I have tried with the bin/cue image and a toast image. I have burned with Imgburn, CDBurnerXP, PowerISO, and Brasero to no avail. Any ideas? I can't seem to find much info on this. Thanks.

    Failing Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA66

Okay, so I think this issue might not have to do with the card at all and the pin pushing was an unrelated accident that distracted me from the real issue. I think the issue is actually memory. I had reseated it a couple of times beforehand, but I decided to do it again and really make sure...

    Failing Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA66

Okay, status update: It works somewhat. I can read and write (how reliably, I don't know) but can't boot reliably due to errors even with other drives. I have tested with 3 different drives and multiple cables and have had issues with all. I have gotten Mac OS 8.1 booting up off an IDE drive...

    System 7.6.1 StuffIt Issues

It was an issue with the OS install somehow. A fresh install with the Umax SuperMac S900 restore disk + a StuffIt Deluxe 5.5 install has yielded much better results.

Yeah, I'm gonna try that soon.
