From my SE mb,they are not outer pair.They are left pair(from back side of mb,scsi port upper)

It wasn't soap in water,but this oxide film and verdigris remover. http://www.monotaro.sg/p/89230671/ I used to use vinegar based soap which works good.but this remover works more better. Oh! you know Sofmap.have you been in Japan?

I think it's called 'Minus Screwdriver' because Japanese do.these picture were referred from famous SE/30 Repair page.and the writer is Japanese.I know it is kind of 'Japanese English' means no proper English but sounds like for Japanese...

When I recapped my PSU of SE/30,Capacitor shop in Tokyo(Akihabara) said some Voltage-Rating was eliminated.so you might not be able to find same capacitance-voltage capacitor.but you can use higher voltage-rating ones(ex. 16V -> 25V).Usually voltage-rating gets higher,body of capacitor gets...

Data lines bring video data only when video ram is selected,otherwise bring instruction and data and everything.so we can't tell something comparing them.I thought Data lines to video rams are good because if there is problem,whole system won't be working.but is there possibility there is cut...

Hi K55. I think you can make narrow the situation by using voltage meter.Video data lines between UC6/7 -> UE8 were 2.05v or 2.36v when my SE/30 is showing ? icon.If there is line sticking 0v or 5v,video memory is dead,or trace is dead or touches another line.make sure have a look both UC6/7...

I think 4.9v is OK.In my case,it was about 4.8v.But I still think you want to be sure capacitors in PSU are healthy.I heard SCSI bus took almost 1Amp when many lines change between 0 and 1.makes ripple on power line if capacitors are weak.When I got problem like yours,floppy drive was removed...

And from your photo,Harness between AB and MB looks like not original.Do you elongate this? I got voltage drop when I elongate harness with bit weaken PSU.

Hi BEU! Before dig into SCSI,are you sure Power Supply Unit is OK?I got similar problem caused by leaked PSU.

MacRecorder...What a sweet memory! I used MacRecorder to put human voice into NES game.Not for a professional audio use,but enough for 1 bit D/A converter in NES.

Hardware option maker always says to backup to prevent their responsibility.I don't think you have to back up when installing this board.But back up is always good to do.

Great findings! It works without software such as driver.but software allows you some controls. When you got this board in SE/30,PSU has to work harder.So be sure about PSU leaking.When I got,caps in PSU leaked.

Yes.Solder Wick does great.I removed caps today,this is after I did Solder Wick. But Solder Wick can't open through hole...Hakko sucker is expensive.I got Engineer's which is Hakko's copy..
