    BBSen

Well, when mine is working right that will be the only way to host it for me. I have yet to figure out hosting a telnet BBS due to the fact that my college has a mountain of firewalling crap going on. But I do have a spare phone line in my apartment which is unused, so that's the way it's going...

    BBS....

Oooh, I'm going to have to try this one out. BTW, are you hosting this yourself? If you don't mind me asking, how did you get everything working? I'd love to host a retro BBS, but my main trouble is finding a way to host the thing.

    Email Address for MACMAN

You could maybe PM him is he's on this forum. Or a message on the BBS would probably get his attention.

    I can't remember the game

I am trying to remember an old Apple II game I had a long time ago. It was an adventure game, and it took place in a giant city in a tree. People wore these capes they could glide around with. I can't remember what it was called. Anyone able to help?

A Mini-Challenge for This Week (aka Elsie's Revenge)

Ooo, null modem cables. I gotta build me some more of those, preferably a male to male db25 cable for testing my bbs.

    Winter Warm-up 2009

Gee Cory, sounds to me like it's time for a Tandy Model T for you- I have put mine through a rather impressive gamut of abuse and it still runs great, and looks good too. My model 102 has been 1. dropped down 3 flights of stairs unharmed, 2. crushed (accidentally) under almost 100 pounds of junk...

    Winter Warmup '09??

Yay for doodles! That's really the only reason I keep bringing a regular notebook to some classes- not enough notes needing to be taken to justify the laptop, but yet boring enough to require doodling space. Not to mention that the notebook and pencil has an extremely intuitive user interface...

    Winter Warmup '09??

Well, I know that the #1 use for my Tandy 102, note taking, could be done in a standard notebook, but clearly that's not any fun is it? I'm not sure what I'll do this year, I kinda blew one project idea by doing it early because I was impatient and didn't want to just sit on my project 'til...

    Winter Warmup '09??

Woot, I'll be there. Gotta figure out how to get my MSS-VIA working here at school though, that could be tough. I know, I'll give the IT department it's MAC address and tell em it's a Wii, that ought to work... See, they require you to authenticate with Javascript otherwise, which doesn't work...

    Neo Geo finished!

For those watching the BBS, you already know I have finished my latest retro project, a home built Neo Geo MVS console. Check out some pics on my blog: http://neoretrotechnerd.blogspot.com/ Enjoy!

A Mini-Challenge for This Week (aka Elsie's Revenge)

Woo! Let us know how it goes. I myself am doing a mini-challenge at the moment, involving some Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware, an RGB to NTSC video encoder, an Apple IIe power supply, and lots and lots of soldering. Almost done too, but I want to make the first big progress report on the BBS first.

    BBS down?

Is the BBS down? I have been trying for part of today to get on, and nothing. Anyone know what's going on?

    And The Winners Are...

Woot! Glad to see it all wrapped up. Congrats to the 4 winners! BTW Luddite, can we see what the mousepads look like, for those who didn't win? Oh yeah, I should say I don't mind not getting the neat 'pad: I'm getting an Apple IIc+ this weekend! :D

Perfect tool for the Retrochallenge... the Prison Board BBS

I can see why he'd want a real name. And that's how he can keep it clean- people know that what they do online is public. Plain and simple. However, I think in the case of a BBS, even one as big as Prison Board, probably would not be routinely checked by employers, unless they suspect you for...

    RetroChallenge 2008

I'll have my celebratory drink of... something without alcohol. Dang alcohol allergy! But seriously, sounds good though. I'm looking forward to it. BTW, who are the judges? (so I can bribe next year.. hehe kidding)

    RetroChallenge 2008

Mine went just fine. When does the judging start?

    Suggestion: actual challenges

Hmmm, sounds neat. However, I think it would be best to post proposed challenges in a special board on the BBS, since the BBS really is THE place to do things like the Retro Challenge. Why we even bother with the web board is beyond me. As for me, my next retro challenge will most likely be...

    Chris68k's update log.

Hmm, you sure you spelled it right? I just checked my Tandy manual and it would seem that Gosub and Return should work OK. Oh wait, I see what it is: you don't have an END statement before the subroutine. If you don't have one then it will crash. I think... try it. like this, line 160 160 END...

    Retro-Rocket 08 demo

Hey, just so everyone knows, I have a video on my blog of this demo running. For those who don't have Tandy's, of course. Tandy owners have no excuse for not running it on real hardware. :D

    Chris68k's update log.

Ooooooo... so cool... My Tandy game isn't that cool yet. No seriously, it's neat. Lots of fun stuff you can do with only a few lines of code. Remember, with the Model T's you can never make your programs too small, you've got only 32k of RAM tops! BTW, how did you transfer it to a PC without...
