Yeah, I have an Intel Quad 2006 at 2.66 with 16 GB of RAM an ATI 5770 with Snow Leopard, then I have a PPC Quad 2005 at 2.5 with 16 GB of RAM and a ATI X1900 with Leopard. I keep both machines "mirrored" as much as possible with almost identical apps except that the Intel has CS6 and the PPC...
What Cory said, because I have a Quad 2.5 PPC that I use with all the updates I can find, all sites, YouTube no problem even 1080p, it's a normal Snow Leopard Intel Quad. I think two things should be restricted: Limited use of other (networked) computers, and OS 9. That would be a challenge...
What I am saying is "needed" meaning if you have any Duo other than a 210, 230, or 250, you might as well just get a regular Duo Dock? and not worry about getting the Duo Dock II for it's FPU right?

but what pram settings are so needed? I have one that has a dead battery but, I don't really worry about the pram settings, I just make sure network time fires up at startup and I am good. :p

The audio can be 8-bit or 16-bit. It just depends on what quality was used in the game design. Really, size of file would warrant 8-bit, and lower quality. Like for instance you could open an 8-bit AIFF or 16-bit AIFF and just play them in quicktime, and the audio is fine on the fly. 8-bit...
Well I got lucky, I ended up getting a SuperMac 8•24 PDQ as the unknown "Bonus" card! Which is great for the 840 as a main monitor with an external NTSC monitor for editing 720x480 640x480 or 320x240 resolution videos for the web...

We need to make a 68k/PPC SSD upgraded thread.
I just recently put an SSD in my PowerMac G5 2.5 Quad, and it is AWESOME!
So quiet too.
I am going to go ahead this year and get as many of my machines on SSDs even the 68ks with SCSI2SD.
It's going to be fun...
(Think about a Pismo with SSD...
Reliable operating system, is seriously the REAL/MAIN issue. But with old OSes 7/8/9 you just gotta live and learn and know what you "Can't Do" or else crash!
But you are SO right about people who think they can't use PLAIN HTML as "the problem" and the messed up part is that most people just...
The first one from 1993, with everything including the Quicktime Conferencing Kit, got lost in my parents storage shed. :( The 2nd and 3rd, one stopped booting and the other took 2 days to warm up before it would boot. That was back from 2005 to 2008, after 2008 I had the one that took 2...
Yep, pretty clean, (except for sorry arse IE 3/4) iCab 2.99 and Netscape 4 worked well! Perfectly even.
Felt good to actually browse the web without crashing on a 68k!!!!!!!
YES! But I gotta stop talking about this and not hijack the thread! doh!
I know this may be lame, but honestly how many times a day do you fire up Mactracker?
I mean Apple-Space m a c t and enter?
If it wasn't for this guys app I would have been lost a long time ago.
I used to work at an Apple Authorized dealer back in 1994, (a mom and pop shop), and back then I...
I consider, making a website that works on 68k a good challenge. It's almost like making a BBS with text a based interface, except that you DO get to use HTML and picture formats, I am planning on firing up the old Site Mill 2, Page Mill 3, and maybe a little GoLive 4 on the 68k and just...
Get an ATI 5770. I put Sonnet SSD card in mine because as a server boot times were about 2 and half minutes. Now boot times are down to 45 secs. So much better when updating "Little "f-%in Snitch" god I hate that program but it is so needed, as I get about 300 screen bundle (VNC) attacks...
Trust me I will be running a cable to that quick... and seeing if I get sound out! Can't wait! (I'll keep you posted).
If anything I think it will only be stereo tho, know what I mean? I don't think you could get 5.1 or anything.
Although I did strangely find an AC-3 codec for 68k! (not...
I know that was the final blow for me, because I have an Optical Audio switcher, that I have plugged into my G5 Quad and Mac Pros to share output to the Logitech Z906, the Optical was the clincher when I debated clicking the final proceed to checkout.
Oh and great news about the newer caps...
