My buddy used his original Apple IIe for word processing and some accounting software right up until a cpl of years ago when the power supply failed. I replaced the power supply and he ended up giving the IIe to me.
I have upgraded it since to include Woz's signature...
I just stumbled on this while perusing Apple ][ info at lunch. Has anyone performed this mod?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that you can install the turbo 040 control panel even if you don't have the card installed, and disable the startup memory check in the settings.
I do not know if this is true or not though, maybe someone can confirm.

Didn't I read somewhere one could install the Turbo040 control panel even if one didn't have a Turbo040 installed, and check a box in the preferences to skip the memory check at startup? Not sure if that applies to an SE.

Scored a personal laserwriter 300 at a church rummage sale for $5 over the weekend. I don't know if that is a good deal yet, as I have not tried it out but for $5 I figured I'd roll the dice and take a chance!
