Are you holding down "C" as the computer starts, with the CD in the drive? Does your keyboard work? Have I got the procedure for booting from CD wrong?
Do you have 7.5.3 on CD, or on floppies? If on CD, then it's as simple as inserting the CD into the drive and holding down "C" as the computer starts. I'm not sure how to boot from a floppy, but I think you just insert the floppy and boot the computer. You will probably need a separate bootable...

Would this cable do? It's a DB25M to DB25M "extension" cable (I assume "extension" implies straight-through). Is three feet (914 mm) too long? It shouldn't be, since my old cable which broke wasn't much shorter.
I have a SCSI Zip 250 drive, but unfortunately, I have no cable for it. Where might I find a replacement? Will any DB-25 male-to-male cable do? If not, why not?
