    Mac Classic Screen 'Wobble' (Caps?)

Would leaving it on for awhile help the problem or just make it worse?

    Mac Classic Screen 'Wobble' (Caps?)

Oh well, I thought I could do that as a simple test. I'd hate to send my board out for capping only to find out it's the analog board or the power supply. I guess I'll need to find someone local that I can take the whole thing over to for testing.

    Mac Classic Screen 'Wobble' (Caps?)

Dumb question. Can I put the Classic motherboard into a SE/30 case (missing its motherboard) or are they completely different connections? That might tell me if it's the motherboard caps or the analog board or power supply.

    Mac Classic Screen 'Wobble' (Caps?)

Thanks. Am I right in assuming it's the caps?

    Mac Classic Screen 'Wobble' (Caps?)

I turned on my Macintosh Classic after not using it for a few months and I noticed that the screen had some interference lines going through it and now and then appeared to 'wobble' a bit. I'm thinking that the capacitors are starting to go bad, but I wanted to get a second opinion since I'm...

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

Bad news as in? Did something bad happen to him, or is it bad news for me?

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

No, IIRC it was not booting anymore or doing something like the checkerboard screen. I'd have to check through old PM's to see for sure.

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

I appreciate the offer, but I'm fine with my Mac Classic for now. He said he did the recap and it was having problems (something he said happens from time to time) and he was working out exactly what the problem was when he disappeared.

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

I wouldn't think so either, that's why I'm hoping he's just busy. Still, I'm going on 5 months since I've heard anything from him or since he's been online, and that's not good at all. I'm not accusing him of anything, I just hope he comes back soon. I'd like some answers. Nothing else I...

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

Well it appears that Phreakout has disappeared completely. I'm going to chalk my SE/30 as officially gone. If Phreakout ever comes back to these boards can someone please point him my way? I'd just like my SE/30 board back.

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

This is getting worrisome. Does anyone have an e-mail address for Phreakout? I'd really like to get in touch with him.

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

So no one has heard from him lately? Hmm... That's not good.

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

Actually he's in Traverse City which is far from Hell on Earth. :)

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

It was a very nice SE/30, and other than the sudden capacitor failure it was in perfect condition. Phreakout seemed to know what he was doing, although he said it had issues after he did the recap and he was looking into them. That was the last I heard about it, and that was late December. I...

    SE/30 Capacitor Trouble

Does anyone know what happened to phreakout? He was fixing my SE/30 but I haven't heard from him in months and he hasn't been on since Jan 12th. I hope he's ok...

System 7 and Old B&W Games

I'm a bit worried about speed issues with the 040 in the 575. I've already had some with the 030 in the SE/30.

System 7 and Old B&W Games

Does anyone have experience with trying to run older B&W games that were made for System 6 and earlier on System 7? Specifically on an LC 575? I'm looking to consolidate my Apple collection by getting an LC all in one with an Apple IIe card, but I'm worried that older Mac games are going...

    Correct Screen Proportions?

That's probably true since you're asking the monitor to scan more area than it normally would, but we're talking half an inch here and there so it's probably negligible.

    Correct Screen Proportions?

My main concern was that I didn't want the graphics to be distorted somehow. If it's safe to keep it slightly larger I guess it couldn't hurt (other than the slight fuzziness, but I think there's a focus knob that might help that)
