I know this is a dumb question, and i'm sure a i'll remember after the first post. But how does a functioning daisy chain work/function best again?
So the primary disk drive is plugged into the computer, and the second floppy drive is plugged into the first...but when you fire up the computer...
Cool thread. Guess I should hold out for the A2 8mb card to come back in stock, though the 4mb is tempting...
Installing these seems pretty easy, I think even if you don't "trust yourself" it's plug and play here. There's not much opportunity to break anything.
I guess i'm not sure. From what i've been reading, part of me thinks this processor upgrade should be plug and play with OS 9.2.2.
If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know before I spend $50-$100 bucks on a paperweight :) Thanks
Question. I am looking at a 1ghz Powerlogix processor upgrade for my 450mhz G4 Cube which I use as an OS9 Gamebox (among other things.) I only run 9.2.2 on an 80GB hard drive.
At any rate, the CPU upgrade card comes with a fan but no install instructions (pretty sure I can figure that out)...
It looks like his VGA scaler is specific to the IIc. Is there anyone that makes one for the IIe or would that one work?
What would you do to this IIe that is necessary you think to get it running in top form? The processor, more RAM possible/needed, VGA Scaler, Disk Emulator, anything else...
Haha...thanks. It's hard not to upgrade a beauty like this, but I think my IIgs has me covered for my high power needs.
That being said, this thing is a beauty. I think it will be chugging along for decades while other newer computers in my collection have long since died.
Edit: Scratch...
I have always wanted an Apple IIe. I used them in grade school and they are just SO solid. The case design, everything. Love them. But I was not about to pay to ship one of these tanks.
I always keep an eye on CL locally, and came across this nice, clean, two-owner (one family) gem. It...
Gotcha, thank you. If anyone sees a one slot riser that will fit in a fat back (and/or a fat back for that matter) please PM me.
This is what I have to do to get programs on the TAM for now but I will take out the dual slot riser in between to keep stress off the PCI input. Thanks for the...
Wait do you mean grounded? Physically it is pretty securely in there an not going anywhere..
What can I do as a cheap fix to make sure there are no issues?
Do you think apple still has a closet full of Fat Back's for the TAM kicking around at Cupertino?
Works great, have uploaded a number of games and programs through the USB slot reader.
Strangely starts a little slower than it used to....and froze on me once when starting. Going to try...
No input lag at all really, I nearly set a new personal best high score. As I mentioned though, there was no sound despite my efforts to procure some from my TAM.
I hooked up my 2600 to the TAM tonight through RF and played some River Raid (pictured and in it's new home next to my Cube.)
The TAM must have not liked the RF box from the NES/SNES. Strangely there was no audio, despite setting it to "mono" in controls and turning up the volume.
I want to...
Strangely not on my computer. Found the "Apple Extras" folder but it's nowhere to be found. Will have to find the .sit of the program on mac garden hopefully..
Ordered the dual PCI riser and a new floppy drive...New PRAM battery is inbound. Taking the TAM apart to install that is going to be fun (I jest...but hopefully it is a little)
Luckily this guide to breaking down the TAM exists...
Tried unplugging PRAM, computer, left for 3 days, hit CUDA, no luck.
Tried toggling power on button and cuda no luck as well
Also tried unplugging and pressing power button while holding CUDA for 30 seconds to drain the capacitors.
Computer fan and HD spins up, it sounds like its running...
