I'm beginning to think that pretty much every CRT or startup problem is related to this PAV board. :) I've been warned about taking that out, but if it needs a recap (This should be possible?), it needs to be done anyway.
Not quite sure and I don't know if any major modifications have been...
Hi guys,
I was given a Graphite DV SE 400 Mhz with video issues. And indeed: After several PRAM resets and a PMU reset and a new PRAM battery (which all changed nothing): bad colours, for example the icons + icon names on the desktop have a "pinkish tail" to the right. Sometimes, it partly...
Yep, clearly Indido. Graphite looks really different. :)
Btw, i have a 500 Mhz with an overall scratched case, should I respray it? Most importantly, which colour(s)?
Mactracker says that A1106 has the "65 W Apple Portable Power Adapter". If I take one of mine as example (PowerBook G4 17-inch 1.33 Ghz 2003; A1052), it also says "65 W Apple Portable Power Adapter".
Shouldn't be that hard to find one.

Good purchase! I'll open my Flower Power and replace the inner plastic "frame" (around the CRT) as it is broken, I also got it for a reasonable price. The case is not perfect though, but acceptable.
Wow, that's already quite old! But I thought that I could put a link to some pics, you never know, maybe useful for somebody.... https://www.flickr.com/photos/125700792@N08/sets/72157656373453962
Nice G3! I have 4 Graphite ones and 4 600 Mhz ones. One of them could be yours, 600 Mhz Graphite. It was my second G3, and the second old mac too. I got it with the idea of replacing the broken plastic of the 400 Mhz Graphite, but then felt bad for it and shortly after started to collect these...
Hi and thanks! :–)
Yeah, open it again to clean the contacts or buy another adapter (10-switch maybe) would have been the next thing to do, I had preferred to wait until I get the CRT (I knew I would get it). ^^
Thanks for the downgrading advice! I've never worked on such an old mac (being...
Don't know if you've already found that: http://jbdkz.hubpages.com/hub/replacing-the-power-supply-in-an-imac-g3-333mhz-tray-loading-computer
I'd also be interested for soldering tutorial or explanation, one never knows.....
If you want to replace the PRAM-battery (I think it's a Rayovac 840), you can do this by soldering 3 AA-batteries together. Did that on my 4400/200, works just fine.
You have a Rev. A or a Rev. B; I tried it on a Rev. D (still a tray loading iMac G3, the last tray-loading generation): pressed the button (on the mac itself) and plugged it in –––> boots after 1 or 2 seconds.
So forget about my idea. :–/
No problem! It's another one of my 11 iMac G3s! ^^ I didn't even know that they had different internal connectors??
Well, I'll have to try it, I will have to make something to hold the second IDE HD in place.
Thanks!
