    Twiggy 128K prototype, again.

Relisted auction is now gone. Odd.

    Twiggy 128K prototype, again.

Yeah, judging by his last bids (pocket knives, PDA/Cellphone batteries), it just sounds like someone that is screwing around.

    Twiggy 128K prototype, again.

It seems that someone has bid on this. :O

Run Mac OS 9 on a PM 6100?

    I wouldn't recommend it. I'm running 9.1 on my 275MHz 5500/275, and it's a bit sluggish, even with 128 megs of ram.

    PowerMac G4 MDD PSU?

It's usually the Samsung ones that fail the most, as well as the 360w ACBel. The 400w ones are pretty good, but some do fail. The 400w AcBel in my MDD works great.

    Maxpowr G3 card help.

Thanks VERY much for the links everyone! Especially this link - http://siber-sonic.com/mac/MAXpowrG3.html Setting it to 3 on and the rest off solved the artifacts problem. Now to install the software to get it working right.

    Maxpowr G3 card help.

Oh poop. Oh well, looks like it's getting 8.6 then.

    Maxpowr G3 card help.

OS 9.1. It has 384 megs of RAM, all the slots are filled. Not sure what speed they are... they all came installed in the computer already.

    Maxpowr G3 card help.

So my Power Mac 7600 has a 300MHz Newertech Maxpowr G3 card installed. Problem is....I can't find an owner's manual online anywhere to set the DIP switch settings. They are all set as on or off... I can't remember, and it shows up in the system profiler as a 335MHz card. Here's the main...

    Is there a reason my SE/30 can't see a 2gb scsi drive ?

Yup... HD SC on the 7.5 disk will not recognize non-Apple drives, and even some Apple drives. I had to initialize my SE/30's drive in my PM 7600 with Drive Setup on the OS 8 CD. EDIT - Lido? Wish I would have seen that before!

    My first big Conquest!

Dog Cow, yes, I will probably get rid of most of them! I'll never own that many Macs. As for the external CD drive, I ended up replacing the NEC drive with an Apple branded 24x drive. It wouldn't read burned discs on the SE/30, but the Apple drive does.

    Stupid but very important question!

Yeah, I haven't downloaded it yet. I plan to tonight.

    Ahh.... much better.

    Stupid but very important question!

All is well. Got the correct memory in the mail this morning. I now have 20 megs of RAM. (4 x 4MB and 4 x 1MB) 7.5.5 flies on it with 20 megs... it crawled with 5.

    Stupid but very important question!

It was definitely the memory. The memory gave death chimes in the LC II as well. On another hand.... what's the best Stuffit version for the SE/30 running 7.5.5? I ended up ordering some memory from eBay that is 100% tested as good and working in Macs. The seller claims it was tested in an...

    Stupid but very important question!

2 of them worked fine in the LCII, the other 2 gave death chimes. I bought them from a reputable place and they were sold as fully tested and working. I put all four in a 486 PC I have, and it recognized them all as 16MB, and the computer ran fine. I seem to have the weirdest situations.

    Stupid but very important question!

Yup, they were installed as 4 SIMMs. I found out I got the wrong memory, and sent it back this morning. Just to confirm, is this the memory I need...

    Stupid but very important question!

Ok... I'm just going to make this my "Dumb questions for my SE/30" Thread. The memory I got doesn't work. It's apparently not compatible. When I put it in, I got the death chimes as soon as I flipped the switch. Here's the memory I bought -...

    Stupid but very important question!

Found CD-Sunrise, and it works! I now have a functional CD drive. 8-)
  20. BGoins12

    Stupid but very important question!

Ahh... like I said... something obviously easy. :p I'll give that a try... if I can't find CD Sunrise, I'll pop an Apple ROMed drive in the enclosure.
