For those that need USB 2.0 in their G4 Tower...

No drivers. Leopard recognized it right away. Oh, and it was about a week and a half after I ordered. The day I posted this post was the day I got it.

For those that need USB 2.0 in their G4 Tower...

Anyone get theirs yet? I like mine so much that I ordered 2 more... one for my PC to add more ports (I hate hubs), and another for my old DOS game rig to use my flash drive on it.

My First Conquest in a While

Nice finds. I'm a big fan of the eMac, especially the late ones. They may be heavy, but the 1.25 and 1.42 models scoot along pretty good. My 1.42 has 2 gigs of RAM and it works great. And I love the crystal clear flat CRT they have. That, and they look cool.

    Warning! Exploding Maxell PRAM Batteries

Sad to report... another SE/30 is dead. A friend of mine asked me to come look at his SE/30 because when he powered it up after sitting for 2 years, it had lines across the screen. Went over there to open it up... only to find an exploded Maxell battery that ruined the logic board. nearly all...

LC III - Strange Mod, What do you think?

My bad vision got me again! I didn't even see those. Nope, mine doesn't have that at all.

LC III - Strange Mod, What do you think?

Looks like a normal LCIII board to me. Identical to mine.

    Classic accelerator?

The only compact Macs I've ever had trouble with was the Classic and Classic II. The SE and SE/30 always opened up with no effort.

For those that need USB 2.0 in their G4 Tower...

This is a excellent solution... and it's CHEAP! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170697718494#ht_2836wt_952 It may take a while to get from China, but it works great, and it has the NEC chip that OS X recognizes. Not sure if it will work on 9, though. Works great in my...

Cache issue, /w G3 Bronze kbd ebay find

Cache failures are common on the Lombard and Pismo. I think the only way to solve it is to replace the CPU card.

    Another conquest!

Luckily, the battery acid only damaged the logic board. I was able to salvage the memory and the ROM SIMM, though. And the battery was? You guessed it, a Maxell. Not sure about the Classic II. I looked at the logic board, and there is very little capacitor leakage. I got them from a guy that's...

    Warning! Exploding Maxell PRAM Batteries

Out of all the Macs I just picked up yesterday, only one suffered a battery explosion.... one of the SE/30s with.........a Maxell battery. All the purple Tadiran batteries were 100% intact. The LCII I got yesterday as well had a Maxell battery in it that was starting to leak. SE/30 murder -...

    Another conquest!

One of the SE Superdrives has a MicroMax Technology 68030 Card from 1994. No FPU installed in the FPU socket. 1 SE/30 doesn't work... the battery ate away everything near it, and the Classic II is dead. Just shows a small rectangle on the screen. Everything else works, and the Quadra is loaded...

Best Bang For Buck AGP Card For My G5?

When I had my MDD booting into 9.2.2 with the FX5200, it would only allow 256 colors at 640x480 if I'm not mistaken.

Best Bang For Buck AGP Card For My G5?

True. Then if anything, it would be best to find a good PC card to flash. It's not too hard. There's a website I found to flash my FX5200, and it was easy to follow. You are going to need a PC with an AGP slot to do the flashing. The only reason I flashed mine is because it's a 256mb card, and...

The case of the 6500 and the missing cache

My 5500/250 with a 6500/275 board does the same exact thing. It shows the cache as 256k, yet the part number shows it as a 512k module.

Best Bang For Buck AGP Card For My G5?

The Radeon 9650 out of the later G5 towers isn't too bad. I think it has 256 megs of VRAM. The only bad thing is they are hard to find at a good price. That's the only bad thing about AGP Mac video cards is they either suck and they are cheap, or they are really good and expensive.
