Anyone get theirs yet?
I like mine so much that I ordered 2 more... one for my PC to add more ports (I hate hubs), and another for my old DOS game rig to use my flash drive on it.
Nice finds. I'm a big fan of the eMac, especially the late ones. They may be heavy, but the 1.25 and 1.42 models scoot along pretty good. My 1.42 has 2 gigs of RAM and it works great. And I love the crystal clear flat CRT they have. That, and they look cool.
Sad to report... another SE/30 is dead.
A friend of mine asked me to come look at his SE/30 because when he powered it up after sitting for 2 years, it had lines across the screen. Went over there to open it up... only to find an exploded Maxell battery that ruined the logic board. nearly all...
This is a excellent solution... and it's CHEAP!

It may take a while to get from China, but it works great, and it has the NEC chip that OS X recognizes. Not sure if it will work on 9, though. Works great in my...
Luckily, the battery acid only damaged the logic board. I was able to salvage the memory and the ROM SIMM, though. And the battery was? You guessed it, a Maxell. Not sure about the Classic II. I looked at the logic board, and there is very little capacitor leakage.
I got them from a guy that's...
Out of all the Macs I just picked up yesterday, only one suffered a battery explosion.... one of the SE/30s with.........a Maxell battery. All the purple Tadiran batteries were 100% intact. The LCII I got yesterday as well had a Maxell battery in it that was starting to leak.
SE/30 murder -...
One of the SE Superdrives has a MicroMax Technology 68030 Card from 1994. No FPU installed in the FPU socket.
1 SE/30 doesn't work... the battery ate away everything near it, and the Classic II is dead. Just shows a small rectangle on the screen. Everything else works, and the Quadra is loaded...
True. Then if anything, it would be best to find a good PC card to flash. It's not too hard. There's a website I found to flash my FX5200, and it was easy to follow. You are going to need a PC with an AGP slot to do the flashing. The only reason I flashed mine is because it's a 256mb card, and...
The Radeon 9650 out of the later G5 towers isn't too bad. I think it has 256 megs of VRAM. The only bad thing is they are hard to find at a good price. That's the only bad thing about AGP Mac video cards is they either suck and they are cheap, or they are really good and expensive.
