At the back of the hard drive, lift up the tab on the sled, and slide out the front of the computer. You may need to remove the metal shield in front of the drive if it's there.
OH JEEZ. I used to hate entering drive parameters... especially if you forgot them, especially back then. You had to call the HD company to get the parameters.
I guess I'll find out when it arrives. All I know from the picture is that it has the Apple Garamond "iMac", and that it's either a 700 or 800MHz model.
So... I will be getting an iMac G4 within the next few days. It's an 800MHz model.
Problem is, I am not sure if it's an OS 9 capable model. I was told by someone that if it has the "iMac" font like this (Which the one I am getting does), that it's OS 9 capable -...
If I am not mistaken, if you do NOT have one of the original MDD video cards installed, OS 9 will go wonky. Mine did with my 256MB nVidia FX5200. Mine would only display at 640x480? (I can't remember) and 256 colors. I put back in the original Radeon 9000 Pro, and it was fine.
EDIT - Wait...
Not sure. I'd assume they are all the same. I used different types in the caddy drive I had with no problems.
My 610 doesn't have a caddy drive, it has a tray loading drive.
Congrats! I love my Quadra 610... the 25MHz 68040 with 36 megs of RAM makes it a speedy little Mac.
As for the ethernet, you will need the adapter. It plugs into the ethernet port and turns it into a standard ethernet jack.
And the CD drive is a caddy loading CD drive. You will need to buy...
Being that's Ultra ATA, both should be set to cable select. Black plug is Master and gray is the slave. I had a single Seagate drive on my MDD set as Master, and it wouldn't recognize it I put it on cable select and it works fine.
I'm suspecting a weak power supply, though.
All FW400 MDDs support OS 9.2.2. This includes the "MDD 2003" made after the FW800 models.
None of the FW800 MDDs can do 9.2.2. As you may know, these are the ones with the single FW800 port on the back, and an Airport Extreme slot on the logic board instead of an Airport slot.
Will this work in the 7600?

or this one...
That was my board in the video. It would boot up to the question mark, but wouldn't recognize any SCSI devices whatsoever. He fixed the bad connection and it works great now.
Two that got away (well one did, the other was a waste of time and gas money)...
First was a 1967 Impala....EXCELLENT condition. Had a 350 4bbl, TH400 and many go fast goodies. The price? The... price.... :'( ....$2,000. I was SO PISSED because I gave the guy a $500 deposit and said I'd be...
