Can't boot SE from external BlueSCSI V2 sad Mac and flashing "?" Mark results

Thank you for the replies everyone. I will try booting from a CD and just a bog standard 6.0.8 image. I knew it wouldn't boot from the 7.6 but figured it was worth a try jsut to make sure it was seeing something at least. Also, I understand the jumper setting now. It says to remove the jumper...

Can't boot SE from external BlueSCSI V2 sad Mac and flashing "?" Mark results

Finally buttoned up the SE. It will boot from a floor tools disk of 6.0.8 that came with it just fine. So at least I have that to verify it's working. I added the MacPack from archive.org to the SD card as well as the Legacy Recovery CD, couldn't remember if an SE can even boot from a CD (?)...

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Got it! It's not perfect but I'm no expert. I'm very happy with the outcome however! Thanks for the help!

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

The last thing I can't seem to impact at all is the pull up on the bottom middle. The bottom magnet doesn't seem to affect it. And the rest of the image actually looks better in person than in the slightly distorted pics

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

I've basically tried a little of everything thing you recommended. I think this is the best I can get with my skill level and fear factor lol. I think the biggest thing that helped the bulges was actually turning the cutoff way down because if you cranked it up it got worse.

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Well messing with the yoke, see also scaring the sh*t out of myself, seems to have not corrected it but I did actually getting it a bit more leveled out as far as positioning

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Awesome haha. Didn't want to insult you just making sure! Do I need to loosen both clamps to move the yoke? Also, the little board on the neck of thebCRT that plugs into the analog board is the one from my old tube. Would that affect it!?

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Are you talking about the same bulge on the left and right sides about middle ways in the image that I am? Just verifying since you said top right

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Had to purchase this tube as a replacement for my original. I have recapped everything but now it has this distortion on the left and right of the image. I've never used the tube prior to recapping so im assuming it's something with the tube itself. How do I fix this? Do I have to adjust the...

    Anyone have an SE speaker?

Nice. May have to go that route. Thank you.

    Anyone have an SE speaker?

I recapped my SE and there is no sound. Unsure if it ever worked before I bought it. The old PSU blew some capacitors pretty bad so it may have destroyed the speaker. With a multimeter I get no resistance at all directly on the speaker terminals so it seems dead and the audio out jack is...

Is this PSU worth even saving?

Thank you for the reply! I think it'll probably end up being more trouble than it's worth because I have a pretty limited skill and I'd hate to think I had everything repaired and sink a bunch of money and time into it only to find out that it's still having issues. I found a Sony PSU with...

Is this PSU worth even saving?

So I started recapping this Hitachi (I think) PSU for my SE project and as you can see there is some bad corrosion from leaky caps. I don't THINK there's any trace damage but some heavy solder mask dage in spots and just 91% iso isn't taking off all the harder black areas. I accidentally...

    Correct orientation for this capacitor?

    Great! Thank you very much!

    Correct orientation for this capacitor?

I'm recapping an analog board for an SE and this capacitor was provided for spot C15. Is there a proper orientation to follow? It replaced a round electrolytic capacitor and the kit is from console5. I really with they provided images of the locations for us non engineering folks haha

Broken CRT part. Easily fixable or complete replacement needed?

Thanks. It seems like from reading that just the Yoke can be replaced? Are they interchangeable between models? How do you physically remove it from the neck of the CRT? I know the tube itself was good prior to purchasing.

Broken CRT part. Easily fixable or complete replacement needed?

So just received a Mac SE and I don't know if this part was already broken or if it's something I bumped while removing the motherboard to get to the PRAM battery but it's broken none the less. Does this mean the only fix is a complete replacement CRT or is this a user replaceable part of the...

Help! Type 11 errors after adding FPU to LC III

Right!? It seems to work flawless. Passed ever FPU benchmark at least. I guess I get lucky once in a blue moon. Everything else I try to do turns out like a video on the Action Retro channel on YT hah!

Help! Type 11 errors after adding FPU to LC III

Solved: I feel like an idiot but I pushed the FPU further into the socket and it still has some travel left and is now properly seated and functioning 100%.

Help! Type 11 errors after adding FPU to LC III

I wonder if I didn't jar the RAM loose. Even Netscape now gives type 11 errors. Seems anything that uses higher amounts of RAM throws the error
