My parts 6100 is a 66MHz machine, (I've never had it running, but it was sold to me as being working, but with no HDD (or HDD sled), plus it was a non CD model)
528MHz + 20% = 633.6MHz 10.5X original speed! (theoretically)
I'm really not thinking straight!
40MHz x 16 = 640MHz
Back to some...
I've just reread that, what I meant to say was...
"I've found some old CD-R discs, looks like the 6100 got backed up, probably when I switched from the 6100 to a G4 MDD."
There are 3 labels on this card, all in a group.
Top label is matt off white substrate, with grey inkjet printing, it says...
A840539
Middle label is gloss white substrate, with black printing, don’t recognise the printing technique, looks digital with very thick ink layer. It says…
12499...
Funnily enough, I've been doing some research, I can't find any evicence of a G4 version of this card either.
I mean, I can see it wouldn't be a dificult to fit a pin compatible G4 chip, but I can't find anywhere that says they did.
I found a booklet from Newer Technology, it shows what looks...
So, I've been doing more digging, I've found some old CD-R discs, looks like the 6100 got backed up when I switched to a G4. I have no recolection of this from the time. Also found a long missing Sim City 2000 disc too, I think I know where the box is.
I suppose I could break out the Acard aec7732, the adaptor, bung in an SSD and install 7.1.2 tonight.
Only it’s bigger than 120BG.
Could I partition it from the install CD?
What a pity I don't have a much smaller SSD (I suspect that's probably the first time that's ever been said).
I found a drum of new blank DVD-R discs, can the be recorded as a CD?
(I genuinely don't know, but I do know the recording surface is at a diferent depth into disc)
