I checked the voltage and I got these results:
Upon startup the voltage (both 12V and 5V) started fluctuating, the 12V ranged from 9.n/aV to 12.08V and the 5V never went below 4V and for a second was 5V.
Once the Mac got to the insert diskette screen, the 12V stayed on 12.08V and the 5V...
That is more likely I think, but I can't quite figure out what went wrong, I adjusted the voltage to 5V and nothing has changed. Maybe the high voltage power supply is failing (I read something along those lines in Macintosh Repair and Upgrade Secrets or Classic Mac Repair Notes, can't remember...
Resolder the logic board? That's a no no for me, I can barely resolder the analogue board, I guess I'll have to find someone who's gonna do the job...
Also other weird thing that happens with the picture is that over time, the picture just becomes wider, you can't see it expanding, you will...
I forgot to mention that the checkerboard screen disappears after few seconds and normal boot sequence occurs. Other important thing is that if I select "Restart" in the Special menu, there's no checkerboard when the Mac restarts. This leads me to believe that this issue is not related to RAM...
My Macintosh Plus has many hardware issues, but I would like to address this one today. This checkerboard appeared one day and alongside that, the sound stopped working. I already replaced electrolytic capacitors on both logic board and analogue board. I recently upgraded my Macintosh from 2.5Mb...
I cleaned the ROM chips and I already resoldered J4 pins on the analog board some time ago, but I got these results: I still got the same checkerboard screen, but the speaker did a little “thud” sound when it switched from checkerboard to the gray screen and the speaker screeched a bit when the...
I've been having A/V problems for some time now, I asked people on r/VintageApple and they said I should recap logic board. I already replaced all cylindrical capacitors on the analog board and a professional replaced the capacitors on the logic board, but alas, there wasn't any change, I still...
Well, HD SC Setup gives me error along the lines of "no suitable disk found" and it displays no disks in the list. I tried Lido some time ago and it recognized the drive, I don't quite remember how did I make Lido recognize the drive, but it gave me a SCSI Arbitration failed error. There's also...
I think that's unlikely because the card appears to be fine, maybe it's not... I can't really tell but I have additional SD card but that one is 64GB and I think it's a waste to put 64GB card into a 25 years old macintosh, it's an overkill and I also don't know if SCSI2SD can read SDXC. An...
I'm using this guide and I'm using a patched version of HD SC Setup, another interesting thing is that when I connect SCSI2SD only to MacBook and run SCSI2SD-monitor it says SD Test: OK
My configuration is:
This is an old thread but I've got some results, when I open SCSI2SD monitor and it said SCSI Test: OK and SD Test: FAIL, I got these results by connecting SCSI2SD to the Mac Color Classic with SCSI Cable and Molex power connector, and I also connected it to my MacBook via USB.
I recently got an iBook G4 and when I turned it on a folder with (Classic) Mac OS logo and question mark appeared, it seem like Mac OS X isn't installed. Mac OS X Tiger install CD came with it, unfortunately it was only an upgrade CD but it was useful enough to make sure that the hard drive is...
As of today, CC's logic board is going to be repaired, but the guy who's gonna repair it has a busy schedule, so as far as I can tell I'll get the board back sometime between 23. December and 29. December.
