Hmm, I can't get pics of the insides, unfortunately, because the seller probably doesn't have a long torx screwdriver. I'll try to dispute the price with the seller, what price do you suggest?
The Mac is being sold for 300€. The physical condition seems decent. But it has probably some analog board problems.
Here's what the translated description says (original language is italian):
The conditions can be seen from the images, working with small defects: at startup, a "recovery...
Thanks for all your advice, unfortunately I can't really test it after the point of configuring the network settings due to the lack of RAM. The RAM sticks I've ordered have been lying in a Michigan USPS facility for nearly a month and eBay says they're supposed to arrive in January, which is...
My current setup is with Mac OS 7.5.5 and I unfortunately have only 4Mb of RAM (I'm still waiting for the expansion RAM sticks to arrive), but in the meantime I've settled with Netscape Navigator 3. I do not plan to browse the modern web, since it's technologically impossible, I just want it for...
Hi folks,
I finally managed to make my SCSI2SD work and I've started putting stuff onto the SD card. I'd like to set up ethernet on my Mac CC since I have a Farallon Ethernet card lying around.
This brings me to my two questions stated in the title, for the first one, I was thinking maybe...
I have some news: the SCSI2SD works, but has a defective SD card socket, I have to hold down the card to make it work. I've bought it from a chinese seller on eBay which means the SCSI2SDs manufactured in china have poor assembly quality.
WARNING: DO NOT buy SCSI2SDs from china/chinese...
Good news! The SCSI2SD adapter doesn't seem broken but is just picky about the way the SD card is inserted. I've decided to run SCSI2SD monitor once again and it said "SD Test: fail" at first, but then I applied some force on the SD card and it flashed to "SD Test: OK".
I'm no expert on these things, but I've noticed that the SCSI2SD utility log said:
which seems suspicious to me, any SD card should not have 0 sectors...
I've been struggling to set up SCSI2SD for my Mac CC for quite a while and I've decided to try the SCSI2SD monitor and to my dismay it said "SD Test: FAIL". My question is: does this mean that SCSI2SD adapter is damaged? (the worse case) or is it just that the SD card is damaged? (a bit unlikely...
I took this battery out of my Macintosh CC before it started leaking, and I'd like to find a replacement for it. I've searched local stores and they don't sell these, so I'm asking what's the best replacement for this kind of battery?
I am afraid that this isn't much use to my problem, because in the Mac 128K topic, the analog board was used on a wrong voltage, which doesn't apply to my case because I have international board; mine was made to be used on 240V. The Mac Plus topic concerns a burned transistor, which also might...
Well, there’s no bulge in the bottom left corner in that picture, but techknight said it’s fine, so I guess that’s the end of my concerns. I still don’t like the shape though. :-/
That might be true, but let's be realistic, the material seems like plastic and if you look at the analogue board pictures above, you can see the other corners look alike, but the bottom left corner is out of shape, this leads me to believe that it was made to handle certain amount of heat...
I am afraid that the T3 transformer is actually melting, here are the pics:
I don't need circuitry knowledge to see that it really shouldn't be in this shape, also the bottom terminals in the first picture seem awfully fried/burned.
Sure, here are some pics:
It's an International analogue board btw.
Ignore the C1, it's an equivalent replacement and it also handles the heat a bit better. :D
P.S. if you want any specific pics, don't hesitate to ask.
> I forget which threads they were, its been years.
Oh well, that's unfortunate, but at least I know what's wrong with my Mac. This narrows down the list of possible problems a lot, so thank you very much. :))
I'm reading The Dead Mac Scrolls at the moment and a lot of symptoms...
So, you're telling me that fluctuating voltage isn't normal? Well that's a start, now let's find the problem! What could go wrong with the power supply?
I'm no expert in electrical circuits, but my tip is on the T3 transformer, last time I checked, it looked kinda fried up.
