What are some of the essential pieces of Software you'd be using in Tiger. I have Tiger installed on a G4 PPC but I have no software. I want to play with it but I don't have anything to run on it aside from Stuffit Expander and GraphicConverter. Suggestions very much welcome.

The site works fine. I just downloaded Simcity 2000 in FireFox and it downloaded fine. So the site isn't the problem.

SimCity 2000 is freeware according to System 7 Today.

That is correct. I ran netatalk on a Debian box with no issues. I served files to my Quadra and Beige G3 without incident.

Quicktime comes with a pic viewer application. Might that be what you're looking for? It's in the Quicktime folder after you install Quicktime...if I recall correctly.

Picked up an old Dell Precision 330 for $20. It's a Pentium 4 machine with unknown RAM for now. It's nothing spectacular but it should run Linux okay.

My very first Mac was a Classic II. I liked it a lot.

I too recommend Thinkpads. I have an old (2006) T60 and it is a workhorse with a great keyboard.
