Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Sure! Here's the debug output. My ImageWriter II is named Itchy & Scratchy and it doesn't show in the Chooser in Mini VMac (but the zones do!)
At this point in time, it would only gain you compatibility with an Apple Internet Router + IP extension end point. It's clearly designed for the times...
I've been working on using the instructions from @finkmac but applying it to the existing MacIPRpi pre-made image for the Raspberry Pi which I already use. I've stumbled quite a bit figuring where things are located, where things are started from, etc. but feel like I'm making some progress...
Turns out the SunRem 2MB card I have is missing a ground connection to pin 15 (enable) on U4. Adding a bodge to GND for this pin and the card works fine! It's been confirmed to fix at least one other known defective SunRem card.
I had another issue where I accidentally put 74S373 for the two...
Good question. I have three types. Of these, the bottom one (with ICs beginning with AAA) gives a startup screen. The other two types the Lisa just beeps with a scrambled screen.
But I'm not certain I know how to tell the difference between EDO/FPM.
Today I had access to a Lisa 2/10 system. The system has two 512K Apple RAM cards installed in it. I pulled my new SunRem 2MB RAM card and set it aside and installed one of the Apple 512K RAM cards in memory slot one. My system powered on and successfully completed all startup tests! So it would...
Thanks so much for the guidance on debugging the MMU. I'll need to come up to speed on some 68K assembly. It's been years.
One thing to note: In the service menu, there's a Loop on Test option. On a working Lisa I'm assuming once you start a test, it keeps looping the same test over and over...
I'm able to access the service menu and using the display memory command 01FF00 with a length of 100 fine. As soon as I cross the boundary into 020000 (say, with display memory 01FF80 length 100), the machine abruptly reboots and beeps twice (lo/hi).
So this makes me wonder. Is there an issue...
Hey all! A little over a month ago, I embarked on a project to build a new Lisa! For years, I've had a Lisa CPU card given to me by a friend (no idea of its status). Now with the availability of new reproduction motherboard and I/O cards, I've build up the missing cards (and sourced a new bare...
I did a print job and there's a lot more of the same "tashtalk: framing error of 0 bytes" errors streaming by-- multiples at a time. I made a video to illustrate this. In it, I show the serial debug output, the Mini VMac that initiates the printing over LocalTalk UDP, the ImageWriter II...
Very useful, thank you! I connected serial to the port at 115200 baud and powered on the ImageWriter II AppleTalk and after the print carriage settles, there's 10 seconds of solid LT error LED with many, many repeating errors in the console of "tashtalk: framing error of 0 bytes" interspersed...
Greetings! I purchased two AirTalks and they were super easy to setup and use. I've been using Mini VMac as well as a Classic II and both are working great with it. I love that printers such as my ImageWriter II w/ AppleTalk card "just work" with it. I was able to print a document from Mini VMac...
