Seems like a good haul, no price but looks like some decent stuff. Not my ad, just a head's up.

For those curious, I've trashed the prefs and it didn't help. I switched back to my original 1.25ghz daughter card and the software recognized the heat sensor. Under the previous card it sound like the fans were randomly slowing spinning up and down, like it didn't know what to do. The original...
Hello everyone, a while back I picked up a G4 MDD and gave it to my sister. There's a thread on me trying to diagnose it, what it's worth and yadda yadda yadda. Fast forward 6-7 months the MDD is acting funky, freezing and wont wake up, some PCI slots don't work and the front button doesn't work...
The Rev A-D (233mhz-333mhz) had the internal fans. The ones with 350mhz or higher don't have fans. Having a 333mhz and 500mhz indigo the only problem I found was burning discs. I usually got a media error, I would have a fan blowing on the case and shut down the mac, after that the same project...
So the problem was the CPU daughtercard? It seems this is a common issue with overheating.
I've experienced it viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13430
And other have too viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11749
I've you have an MDD you might want to change the paste before it's too late. Or if you come across...
I've used a PC keyboard to use Mac shortcuts in the finder. The keys might be slightly rearranged but it should work. First boot into the finder and open keycaps or "keyboard or character viewer" in OSX. Then you can accurately see what button hits which apple key.
It turns out it was the cord was not in a port that was hooked into the network. Once you connect an ethernet cable with a network connection it will show up in the list in the network pane of system preferences.
I'm trying to fix a Quicksilver (qs 2002), it runs OS9 and Panther but I'm having issues networking. I'm pretty sure the network uses DHCP but I can't connect to anything. It's a neglected mac but I can't tell the problem lies with the cable and connection or the port. In OSX the networking...
There's two models, one that's been recalled and the one replacing it. If you got a Samsung PSU I think you're good. I still think they're great looking computers.
I would say your problem is the CPU, if you replace the CPU you still may have quirks in the system but it will boot. It's odd because I had the exact same issue before Xmas.
Check out this link, http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11749 you'll see a pict I took of my burnt out...
Update, my USB flash drives don't work in 8.6 and I get an error type 1010 trying to installing 9.2. But as of now I have 10.0 running and with 8.6 on a different partition. After some researching it seems the Yikes G4 and BW G3 can't boot off firewire :(
Panther and Tiger install CDs. They'll load on my iMac but not on the G3. I have an external DVD writer hooked up to the G3 it will list it in System Profiler but I can't access any CD from it, even the 8.6 CD I used to install.
As a side note the drive setup included with 8.6 disk wouldn't...
My friend just gave me a G3 they had at his printing company that was going to be thrown out. It's not too dusty in side, although I haven't booted it yet. There's no hard drive and I've pulled the ram too identify them and this long mystery PCI card. The mystery card has what looks like a mac...
Just looked at the box, it's Bytecc. Apple System Profiler recognized the card but I can't tell if you if was running at USB2 speeds. But it didn't crash the mac so that's a plus!
By chance I dropped a NEC based generic USB2 card in a graphite G4 running OS 9. Worked fine without drivers, it loaded a USB2 flash stick but I didn't test the speed, although it didn't work in a dual 1.8ghz G5 PCI (not the PCI-X model). This is the model $13 CAD...
